Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
22V234000 · Seats
Reported: 2022-04-11 (April 11, 2022)
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, Ventana, Dutch Star, New Aire, Canyon Star, 2019 Ventana LE, 2020-2022 Kountry Star, 2019-2020 Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex, and 2021 Super Star vehicles. The wiring under the seats may be incorrectly secured, which can lead to a pinched wire in the seat adjustment mechanism and cause an electrical short circuit.
Consequence: A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and secure the wiring, adding circuit breaker and fuse protection as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 10, 2022. Owners may contact Newmar's customer service at 1-800-731-8300.
NHTSA campaign record ↗23V469000 · Seat Belts:Rear/Other:Anchorage
Reported: 2023-07-07 (July 7, 2023)
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Bay Star, 2020-2023 Bay Star Sport, and 2022-2023 Super Star motorhomes. The seat belt brackets for the dinette seat belts were modified to avoid interference with the vehicle slide-out rollers in the floor. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 210, "Seat belt Assembly Anchorages" and 207, "Seating Systems."
Consequence: Modified seat belt mounting brackets can fail to properly restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the seat belt mounting brackets, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 4, 2023. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar's number for this recall is 604RSB.
NHTSA campaign record ↗26V108000 · Structure:Body:Hood:Hinge And Attachments
Reported: 2026-02-24 (February 24, 2026)
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018-2026 Bay Star and Bay Star Sport motorhomes. The hood stops mounting adhesive may fail, which can allow the hood stop to detach while the vehicle is in transit.
Consequence: Hood stops that detach can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and reinstall the hood stop brackets, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 20, 2026. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar's number for this recall is 627 RSB.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
