Owner report 11606817 · 2024-08-06 (August 6, 2024)

Right side transmission stalk failed. Truck shut down and was only able to get partially out of 4 lane highway. Truck had to be towed as it would not reset/clear. Dealer replaced transmission stalk. Despite there being a safety recall for these devices (24v-190), and this truck meeting all requirements to be included in the recall, Peterbilt says it is not included and is currently offering no cost covered repair. We also had another truck have the same issue a few months ago.

Reported: 2023-09-27 (September 27, 2023)

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Peterbilt 579 and 567 trucks. The U-bolts that attach the air tank to the chassis may contact the fuel tank and over time, wear a hole in the tank.

Consequence: A punctured fuel tank can leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and trim the U-bolts, and replace the fuel tank as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 3, 2023. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's number for this recall is 23PBH.

Reported: 2025-06-26 (June 26, 2025)

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Kenworth T480, T680, T880, W990, Peterbilt 520, 536, 537, 548, 567, 579, 589, 2025 Kenworth T180, Peterbilt 535, 2025-2026 Kenworth T280, T380 and L770 vehicles. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
