The Forward Collision Warning System has not functioned on my brand new 2023 Ram Laramie 1500 Limited since I bought it on March 3, 2023. I can make my vehicle available for inspection at your convenience. Although the system generated no error codes the technician was able to confirm/verify that the forward collision alert system does not engage as designed. I have …

While making a slow left turn the truck stalled without warning almost causing an accident with oncoming traffic. Once the truck stalled, I wasn't able to accelerate, and the car slowly rolled across two lanes of oncoming traffic. Once the car came to a stop the emergency brake engaged. I was able to put the car in Park and restart and disengage the emergency brake. If the other cars hadn't stopped in time this could easily been a fatal accident for me and my family.

BECAUSE IT WAS A NEW TRUCK WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND THERE WAS NO SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. TRUCK WONT GO INTO REVERSE WHEN TURNING THE ROTARY DIAL. THIS HAPPENS AFTER DRIVING THE TRUCK FOR A COUPLE OF MILES. IF YOU TURN THE ROTARY DIAL TO THE THE R POSITION IT JUST SITS THERE LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL. IN ORDER TO GET IT TO GO INTO REVERSE, YOU HAVE TO TURN THE DIAL BACK TO P, THEN TURN THE DIAL TO D AND THEN TURN IT BACK TO R. THIS IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF YOU ARE ON AN INCLINE AND TURN IT TO R IT WILL ROLL FORWARD AND NOT GO INTO REVERSE.

I PARKED MY TRUCK, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, AND EXITED AND WENT INSIDE. I WAS WALKING MY DOG SEVERAL MINUTES LATER AND SEEMED TO NOTICE MY TRUCK MOVING BACKWARDS. I SAW THE FRESH TRACKS IN THE SNOW IN FRONT OF MY TRUCK AND REALIZED THAT IT WAS ROLLING BACKWARD ON MY DRIVEWAY. I GOT IN, PRESSED THE BRAKES TO STOP THE ROLLING AND TRIED CYCLING THE POWER. MY KEYS WERE INSIDE SO I RUSHED IN TO GET THEM AND THEN BACK TO THE TRUCK. IT STARTED WITHOUT CHANGING THE SHIFT SELECTOR KNOB, SO IT HAD DEFINITELY BEEN REQUESTED TO ENGAGE PARK.

Vehicle Owner's Manual not available in vehicle without internet connection. This is an attempt to prevent an accident causing injury or vehicle damage when I am operating my truck. Just before I was completely stopped at a red light, the engine died, the transmission shifted to park, and the emergency brake was set. After several minutes and several attempts, the engine started and I was able to drive it home. The only indication something was wrong was the “Check Engine” light was on. In two separate instances, after coming to a stop while driving (traffic light/stop sign) when attempting to accelerate the engine revved but car did not move. The car remained in the “run” position and the emergency parking brake engaged. Similarly the display alerted that safety parking brake was activated. Vehicle would not shift out of drive. The Auto Start-Stop system is not working properly. Three times it has failed to restart when sitting a traffic light. I believe this is safety issue because I could be rear ended if a vehicle is not aware of my vehicle not starting to move with traffic. The Auto Start-Stop can only be manually stopped by turning it off in the vehicle ever time to start to use it. This system needs fixed or there could be an accident on the road.

I was driving down Highway 16 in Texas between Fredericksburg and Kerrville when I heard a very loud noise and the panoramic window on my vehicle exploded. There were not any objects that came in contact with the window to cause it to break. Fortunately, the sunroof was closed and the inside cover was in the closed position so that glass did not cover me or the interior of the vehicle. This was a two lane highway and had I not had the sunroof covering in the closed position it could have resulted in a serious accident.

There is a loud humming/tumbling sound when decelerating at lower roms. It is very loud, obnoxious, and distracting. It was so loud that I couldn’t hear an emergency vehicle coming up behind me to get over. I have found 100’s of complaints on forums with the same issue with the 5th gen rams. Regional mechanic said it is normal operating for the vehicle, dealership mechanic said this is not normal.

The vehicle was sold with oversized 35-inch tires but was never recalibrated for speedometer, odometer, or tire pressure monitoring systems. The vehicle’s speedometer reads approximately 7 mph slower than actual speed, making the odometer inaccurate as well. This affects braking, ABS, traction control, and engine timing. The door placard still lists the original 265/70R17 tires, meaning the vehicle no longer meets the safety certification indicated by the label. The dealership did not disclose these modifications. The Issue I am having is related to the Start/Stop function in the vehicle. Under normal circumstances when Start/Stop is on, and when it engages at a stop, the engine turns off when the brake is depressed. The vehicle has always had an issue with turn signal canceling the left hand turn probably fails 30/40% of the time. There was a recall on this but requires a diagnostic to be performed. This has been completed twice and didn’t fail, but service writer and tech both witnessed it not working during driving test. Problem is StarParts won’t send parts to dealer because it passes their diagnostic. After complaints to dealer now StarParts wants to run test a third time the dealer and I agree the outcome will be the same. I sent email to StarParts re…

* Sudden shutdown while driving * Dash failure * “Vehicle not in park” message * RF hub failure * Recall references While driving at highway speeds and without warning the entire dashboard shut off and the vehicle lost power. The message “Vehicle Not in Park” appeared. My son was forced to coast off the highway to safety. Once the vehicle stopped, it shifted itself into park. The truck restarted briefly but failed again shortly after. Luckily this time he was able to drift into a nearby gas station. At that point the vehicle had no dashboard li…

The issue concerns the steering column control module, when the turn signal is used or activate the turn signal self-canceling feature may not function properly. Either issue can cause confusion or reduce visibility for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash. I have asked the dealer to fix the issue but have told me they have been out of stock of the part and I have been waiting over 6 months for the fix with no resolution.
