We've received intermittent propulsion system warnings, headlight system warnings, delayed accelerator response at times, and general electrical system sluggishness. The infotainment system can be slow to respond, and various vehicle functions occasionally lag or behave inconsistently before …

The vehicle has exhibited unexpected braking without any apparent external trigger, posing a safety risk. Most troubling, we have now had a third incident of the seatbelt pre-tensioning unexpectedly and forcefully, which caused my wife several days of lower abdominal discomfort. The most recent episode happened while parking at low speed. These experiences have undermined our trust in the vehicle’s safety systems.

I experienced a serious safety issue with my 2025 Volvo EX90 around 1:15 PM on October 7, 2025. It was drizzling at the time. I had stopped in front of an ATM to deposit and withdraw money. After finishing, when I released the brake pedal to leave, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward on its own, much faster than normal creeping speed. I had to keep pressing the brake pedal to control the car. I used intermittent braking to steer it around and managed to park it safely. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

No selected model years have a complete observation window. Choose an eligible year or a shorter window.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
