Recall history

9 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V782000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-12-07 (December 7, 2017) · Model years: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Winnebago Era, Travato, Minnie Winnie, Fuse, View, Trend, Aspect, Brave, Vista, Sightseer, Adventurer, Forza, Journey, Tour, Revel, Paseo, Chalet, Access, and Intent motorhomes and Commercial vehicles, and 2013-2018 Itasca Spirit, Navion, Cambria, Tribute, Sunstar, Sunova, Suncruiser, Solei, Meridian, Elipse, Horizon, Reyo, and Via motorhomes. These vehicles are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Winnebago will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for replacement or aftermarket fire extinguishers, free of charge. The recall began on January 19, 2018. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

13V162000 · Equipment

Reported: 2013-04-26 (April 26, 2013) · Model years: 2014

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Winnebago Access, Aspect, Sightseer, Vista, Adventurer, Forza and Itasca Impulse, Cambria, Sunova, Sunstar, Suncruiser motorhomes manufactured February 20, 2013, through April 25, 2013. If the awning installation sequence was not completely followed, the awning motor may unknowningly become damaged. A damaged motor may lead to an unfurling of the awning.

Consequence: If motor damage occurs, it is possible that the awning can unfurl unexpectedly, either while the motorhome is at rest or while in transit, increasing the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.

Remedy: Winnebago will notify owners and Dometic staff will replace the affected motors with a design that is not subject to an out-of-sequence installation error. The recall began on July 17, 2013. Owners may contact Winnebago at 1-800-537-1885 or Dometic at 1-888-447-0003 for more information. Owners are being instructed not to drive their vehicle until repairs can be performed.

The turn signals may have a smaller than required luminous lens area. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: A small lens can make it difficult for other drivers to see the turn signal, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the turn signals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2026. Owners may contact Winnebago Customer Care at 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 189.

Consequence: If the sway bar bolts loosen, the sway bar may detach from the axle, affecting the handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Winnebago owners will be notified by Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) and DTNSA will modify the sway bar mounting, free of charge. The recall began on June 7, 2016. Owners may contact DTNA at 1-800-547-0712.

As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

THE FULL-WALL SLIDEOUT ON MY 2014 WINNEBAGO FORZA 38R OPENED WHILE COACH WAS IN MOTION. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP WITHOUT INCIDENT. I FOUND THE FRONT OF THE SLIDEOUT FULLY EXTENDED AND THE REAR OUT ABOUT HALF WAY. I USED THE SLIDEOUT SWITCH AND A SERIES OF RETRACT/EXTEND ACTIONS TO BRING IT BACK IN. THE SLIDEOUT ALIGNED ITSELF AND FULLY RETRACTED AS A RESULT OF THESE ACTIONS. THE UNEXPECTED DEPLOYMENT HAPPENED AT 55 MPH ON A TWO-LANE ROAD. MOTOR HOME HAS BED ABOVE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS. THE BED IS RAISED AND LOWERED BY ELECTRIC MOTOR. THE BED ON OUR MH DOES NOT LOCK IN PLACE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SITS ON AN ANGLE LOWERED ON PASSENGER SIDE. THERE IS A SEATBELT TYPE LATCH ON DRIVERS SIDE FOR SAFETY; HOWEVER, WITH BED ON AN ANNIVERSARY GLE, THE BELT CANNOT BE LATCHED. WITH ADDITIONAL STRESS ON DRIVER SIDE MOTOR DRIVE, IT IS DESTINED TO BREAK LOOSE DUE TO BOUNCING MOVEMENT OF VEHICLE. IF THE ATTACHMENTS COME LOOSE, THE BED WILL STRIKE THE DRIVERS HEAD WHILE IN MOTION.

IT WILL SWAY ENOUGH TO MOVE OVER THE CENTER LANE OR OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER MOTOR HOMES AND TOW VEHICLES THAT HAVE HANDLED MUCH BETTER. I CHECKED INTO GETTING A SAFETY SWAY BAR BUT IT ALREADY HAS A SWAY BAR BUILT IN. WHEN THERE ARE LARGE VEHICLES AND TRUCKS ON THE ROAD, I TEND TO HAVE EVEN LESS CONTROL. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
