IN AUGUST OF 2006 I SIGNED A THREE YEAR LEASE FOR THE NEW AUDI Q7, 4.2. RIGHT FROM THE START, I ENCOUNTERED A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. ONLY BY REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN APPLYING FULL PRESSURE WILL I START MOVING AGAIN. THIS WAS NOT A LAG NOR A HESITATION, SINCE WITHOUT REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE PEDAL THE CAR SIMPLY WILL NOT MOVE. DEPENDING ON THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATOR OR ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE SEQUENCE, THE CAR WILL EITHER COME A FULLY U…

WHILE DRIVING IN DRY/FAIR WEATHER CONDITIONS AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (50 AND 70 MPH) THE ESP WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGAGED THE ABS SYSTEM FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT CREATED A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE AUDI Q7 4.2 UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE ESP SYSTEM AS I EXITED THE FREEWAY TO STOP AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE PASTED 100 MILES AND 3 MONTHS. THE SELLING DEALER FOUND NO CODES AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. THIS IS NOT A SAFE SITUATION FOR ME, AND AUDI HAS OFFERED NO SOLUTION TO THE DEALER TECH TO DATE. *TR

WHEN RETURNING FROM A TRIP, ABOUT 1 MILE FROM HOME I EXPERIENCED A VERY STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. WHEN I GOT HOME AND OPENED THE HOOD, GASOLINE WAS SPRAYING FROM THE ENGINE ONTO THE HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND INSTANTLY VAPORIZING INTO A CLOUD. I THINK WE WERE VERY LUCKY THIS DID NOT RESULT IN A FIRE THAT COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED ME AND MY FAMILY. CAR PERIODICALLY STALLS ON ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, EVEN THOUGH ENGINE IS UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. CAR WILL GET TO APPROX 10-15 MPH, THEN STALL, WITH A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. MUST PUSH GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO OVERCOME THE STALL, THEN THE CAR LEAPS FORWARD, SPINNING THE TIRES. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS. AM VERY CONCERNED WHENEVER I START UP AT AN INTERSECTION, AS I DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS SITUATION WILL OCCUR. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH SHOULD BE CORRECTED. *TR

TWO ISSUES: THE SMALL PORTABLE AIR PUMP THAT CAME WITH THE CAR WOULD BLOW THE FUSE TO THE 12V CIGARETTE LIGHTER. AFTER A NEW FUSE IS PUT IN, THIS WOULD HAPPEN ON ABOUT EVERY THIRD OR FOURTH TIME OF USING OF THE PUMP. I HAVE REPLACED ABOUT 5 FUSES ALREADY. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE SQUEAKING OF THE REAR BRAKES WHEN BACKING UP DURING COLD OR HOT. HOWEVER, IT DOES HAPPEN MORE WHEN COLD/IN THE MORNING. Every time I pressed the start button, a warning would come on the screen “ please put the vehicle in Park. Risk of roll over”. When I pressed the park button, nothing would happen. Matrix adaptive headlights are not working. Night driving with increased adoption of LED headlights become challenging due to high glare level and associated temporary vision sensitivity reduction, I was hoping that matrix adaptive headlights will improve this (especially in states like Michigan where extra side light appreciates due to high amount of deers) but they are not working. Also, It puts some pedestrians under extra danger since they could not been seen in low light conditions (there’s a lack of external lighting poles)

WHEN YOU PLACE THIS VEHICLE IN A CAR WASH THAT PUSHES THE VEHICLE IN THE NEUTRAL GEAR, WE ARE UNABLE TO SHIFT GEAR TO DRIVE UNLESS YOU DEPRESS THE BRAKE. Audi Rumble is present on this vehicle, Audi disregards it even after visiting the dealer many times over the issue. Center diff is what is causing it. No issue up to 30k miles, then the rumble started. I am afraid of the drivetrain breaking and locking up during driving which could be catastrophic. Audi does have TSBs on this exact issue from previous model years, this model year doesnt. More complaints should come in eventually for this exact issue.

This issue closely resembles Audi recall campaign 97CB (NHTSA campaign ID 16V642000), with details available at [XXX] . In my case, the marker light itself is functioning properly, but the vehicle is displaying a false error message: "Front Right Side Marker Light Defective." THE WHEEL TURNS TO THE RIGHT 90 DEGREES, YET THE CAR GO STRAIGHT. YOU HAVE TO FORCE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK TO STRAIGHT. DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND CAN'T DUPLICATE THE EVENTS. *TR

I CURRENTLY OWN A 2007 AUDI Q7 3.6 AND BELIEVE THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH ALL 2007 3.6 VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE IS ADVERTISED TO HAVE THE TOWING ABILITY TO TOW UP TO 6600LBS. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE TOWING A 435LB ALUMINUM TRAILER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE EPC (ELECTRONIC POWER CONTROL) LIGHT AND THE CAR GOES INTO A SAFE MODE WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO GO OVER 3000RPMS. THIS PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS WHILE TOWING FOR OVER AN HOUR BUT WHEN THE SAFE MODE IS INSTALLED THE CAR HAS NO POWER AND WITH A TRAILER STILL HOOKED UP …
