TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 COUNTRY COACH ALLURE RV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS MECHANIC INSPECTED THE CHASSIS AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKES WERE IMPROPERLY LUBRICATED. THE CHASSIS WILL HAVE TO BE REMOVED IN ORDER TO LUBE THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BRAKE FAILURE COULD OCCUR IN THE INTERIM. THE VIN AND MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.

While driving on a busy 6 lane highway, the engine "derated" and then shutdown while trying to exit highway. Lost power steering and ability to steer. Shutdown was programmed by Caterpillar C9S engine emissions system. Was able to avoid serious accident due to quick response of oncoming driver who drove into ditch.
