Hello. I’m complaining about CWA ( cross wind assist) . Everyone knows and internet groups are full of information about this issue. The CWA is not safe , it’s dangerous on the road and can suddenly brake check another vehicle behind you or can throw you to oncoming traffic lane. The system also applies brakes when passing under bridges or road signs that are across the road. This system is dangerous and needs to be recalled for the safety reasons.

Multiple Episodes of vigorous Sudden Application of Active Brake Assist, sometimes with a sudden dip, occasionally without a noticeable inciting issue. Often Occurs at Hiway speeds, on a narrow bridge with car slowing to 5 mph. At low speeds break assist may turn off and able to resume driving, sometimes requires restart of engine to clear brake assist. Drivers following behind are not happy when this unexpectedly happens, very unsafe. Atteeempts to deal with it through dealer have been unsuccessful or dis, issued.

The Cooling fan behind the radiator also known as the clutch fan fell off the water pump. I realized it before it fell on the highway during rush hour and caused a major accident and engine failure. This is a very common problem and is all over the internet. In most cases it will take out the radiator, fan assembly, belts and hoses as reported by many on the internet when you google “MB sprinter clutch fan falls off”.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

The contact owns a 2016 Freightliner Sprinter 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the rear wheels would brake independently; as the failure persisted, the ABS warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact called the dealer; however, they could not grant a soon enough appointment. The contact stated that as he was coming to a stop with his foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle independently accelerated as the contact slammed on the brake pedal. He was then forced to swerve out of the way of the veh…

Vehicle was driving fine, then warning lights that ABS system was no longer functioning, cruse control inoiperable, "go to shop immediatly" with no apparent cause. I took it to a shop and they attached the electronic scanner which indicated "Front Right Speed Sensor failed". This is the second speed sensor that I have had replaced this year (the first was one of the rear speed sensors). I replaced the front right speed sensor this morning, but the system has not reset. REAR LEAF SPRINGS RETAINING PIN SHEARED OFF AND SPRINGS SHIFTED FORWARD AND AXLE ROTATED CAUSING DANGEROUS SITUATION. FREIGHTLINER DEALER CONSIDERED IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. ESP WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND DEALER REPLACED STEERING ANGLE SENSOR WHICH DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. THEY THEN FOUND SHEARED PIN AND SPRINGS SHIFTED THREE INCHES. SAID UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE NOW FOUND OTHER SIMILAR REPORTS. THIS PROBLEM WARRANTS AN OFFICIAL RECALL.

I WAS DRIVING ON I-10 JUST WEST OF PALM SPRINGS CLIMBING A HILL WHEN MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. THE TURBO RESONATOR HAD FAILED, CAUSING LACK OF ENGINE POWER. MY VAN SUDDENLY SLOWED FROM 70 MPH TO 35 MPH. TRAFFIC FROM BEHIND ME HAD TO REACT QUICKLY TO PASS ME. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO A DODGE DEALER, AND PURCHASED A REPLACEMENT TURBO RESONATOR. THE OLD ONE HAD A SPLIT IN IT, WHICH I FOUND WAS COMMON BASED ON A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET. THE COST OF THE PART WAS ABOUT $100 AND I WAS ABLE TO REPLACE IT -- AGAIN BASED ON INSTRUCTIONS FOUND…

WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VAN NEW FROM THE DEALER, I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT THE KNOWN POWER STEERING HOSE ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS THAT ONE OF THE POWER STEERING FLUID HOSES IS TOO SHORT & IT WORKS ITS WAY OUT OF POSITION UNTIL IT POPS OFF & FLUID SPRAYS OUT, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. I KNEW ABOUT IT BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET OF THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ISSUE. I WENT BACK FOR SERVICE A YEAR LATER & SHOWED THEM THE HOSE SLIPPING OFF, THEY DID NOT CARE & DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. DESPITE …

The lower power steering return hose came off while driving just outside Albuquerque, NM. My van had only 2861 miles on it. The clamps had been replaced due to factory recall by my dealer in Salt Lake City, UT prior to delivery to me, but the factory hose was still too short, and clamps still not adequate. I was able to put it on and drive it 30 miles to a Mercedes dealer in Albuquerque, where they put new clamps on, but they did not install a longer hose. They said factory hose was fine. I made it to Durango, CO (just 3-1/2 hour drive)a…
