Owner report 11629630 · 2024-12-09 (December 9, 2024)

While I was parking in the lot, the vehicle nearly came to a stop when it abruptly accelerated on its own. My foot was firmly planted on the brake, a standard practice at the end of the parking process. The sudden acceleration made it impossible to regain control, resulting in a collision with the parking lot sign and a small tree. I took decisive action to steer the vehicle away from the glass door of the building in front of me, but it ultimately struck the building wall to my right. This incident highlights serious safety issues, specificall…

Last year there was a recall associated with this vehicle due to the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). Two visits to the dealership were required to resolve the issue (November and December 2024). My vehicle was running properly until 11/17/25 PM when while freeway driving home I experienced a power failure that prompted me to immediately pull over to check the power circuit. We drove ten miles to a local restaurant and after our meal the vehicle reported a 12-volt battery issue. After about a mile the car started to pull the car over as the battery was falling. As we were looking for a safe location to pull over, the car would no longer accelerate and would maintain 20 mph on a road that was 50 mph speed limit causing a very unsafe condition. We eventually found a safe location to pull over the car and had the car towed.

The 12 volt battery on the EV car has gone dead twice since I took delivery on the new car in January 2025. When that happens the car is completely dead and must be manually accessed to open the hood and jump start the car. The first time the car would function once jump started. The second time the car would not stay "running" and the battery had to be recharged for the car to function. This problem seems to be the same as the issue that prompted the recall of this car and others in the fall of 2024. It appears that the problem was not corr…

UNKNOWN On 1/16/26, I was parked in an underground parking spot. When I moved the gear shift into reverse and lifted my foot from the pedal, the car surged more than expected and the left mirror hit the cement pillar. The chrome trim strip above the windshield flew off while driving. This poses a safety hazard for anyone driving behind a GV60 and unfortunately this issue seems to be very widespread (examples: [XXX] ). Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

During a routine left hand turn at low speed (~10-15MPH), the vehicle engaged emergency braking. The dashboard indicated emergency braking was enabled. There were no objects in the vehicle's path. Acceleration was not possible during the event. Because the braking was unexpected and unintentional, the vehicle behind nearly collided with me.

On March 1, 2026, while driving at normal roadway speed on a double yellow-lined road, my 2024 Genesis GV60 Advance displayed a "Check Electric Vehicle System" warning. With less than one minute of the warning appearing, the vehicle lost propulsion and rolled to a stop. I was able to steer into a parking lot, but I was stranded miles from home. There was minimal advance warning before complete loss of drive power. The vehicle could not be driven and required towing. The vehicle previously had the ICCU recall campaign marked as complete on Jan…

Frequently, when starting my car, the instrument cluster display is blank. It can take many minutes for it to turn on. This is unsafe as I can’t see speed and other potential alerts.

My vehicle lost power, going from 65 mph to the 40's, and later the 20's. I was fortunately able to exit the freeway without incident and limped into a nearby d…
