DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE MOTOR HOME STALLED SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE MOTOR HOME COULD NOT BE TOWED DUE TO THE SIZE. AFTER CONTACTING WORKHORSE, THE CONTACT WAS TOLD TO AGITATE THE WIRES ON THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE STARTED LONG ENOUGH TO GET THE CONTACT TO THE CAMP GROUNDS. WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 ITASCA SUNRISE FORD CHASSIS AT SPEEDS OF 60 MPH I FELT AN INTERMITTENT SHIMMY IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I HEARD A SMALL SQUEAL SOUND THAT WENT AWAY. AFTER DRIVING I NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT WHEEL WAS RATHER WARM. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BRAKE GRABBING THE ROTOR. I TOOK THE RV TO THE CLOSEST RV REPAIR SHOP. ONCE ON THE RV LIFT, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT I WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AS THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE WHEEL ON WAS THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY. FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT WORKING WHEN WE TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. FOUND OUT AFTER PURCHASE THAT THE WIRING HARNESS AND FUEL LINES WERE CRUSHED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR FIVE MORE REPAIR ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT ELECTRICAL FAILURES IN THE VEHICLE AND AT THIS TIME IT IS NOT CORRECTED. AT THIS TIME, WHILE WE ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONICS STARTS SHUTTING DOWN. WE HAVE OTHER ELECTRICAL FAILURES THROUGHOUT THE COACH AS WELL. PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE FAILING TO START. *MR THE VEHICLE DIED WHILE IDLING AND ON ONE OCCASION, WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE REMAINED INOPERATIVE. THE SERVICE DEALER REPAIRED THE GENERATOR FUEL LINE AND REPAIRED A CONNECTOR THAT PREVENTED THE FUEL PUMP FROM GETTING THE NECESSARY ELECTRIC CURRENT. The windshield Carrier (frame) that the windshield sits in rusts out causing the windshield to NOT remain secure the carrier. This can be inspected upon request. I have found online, Many complaints about this issue. The safety factor is, the windshield could become loose or crack while traveling. I am not aware if this has been confirmed by a dealer.
