My 4 LO light is constantly flashing, and I lose power when trying to accelerate. 1.Loss of Traction Control: If the 4WD system fails while engaged, it could lead to a sudden loss of traction. This can be particularly dangerous in conditions where 4WD is necessary, such as on slippery roads, steep inclines, or off-road situations. 2.Unexpected Vehicle Behavior: A malfunction in the 4WD system could lead to unpredictable vehicle behavior. For example, if the vehicle unexpectedly shifts into or out of 4Lo mode, it could disrupt the driver's contr…

Constant rebooting of the Infotainment system which includes heat/air conditioning - defrosting of windows etc. I have had this problem for more than a year. I have consulted with Lexus dealerships. I was told this problem exists with various models of Toyota and Lexus. Every time I start the vehicle - it starts rebooting - then the screen keeps blinking on and off like it is beginning to start then it stops. I have disconnected the battery to re attempt. BACK IN 2016, WHEN THE FIRST BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE DEALER ALSO CHANGED SOMETHING WITH THE STEREO, BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE. BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. Lexus issued a Warranty Enhancement Program sometime in 2022. It stated that if the check engine light would illuminate due to moisture and cold in the air injection pumps and air switching valves. The warranty would be good until 10 years from first use which is 10/23 for this vehicle. I was not experiencing the problem at the time I received the notice so I files it. A few months later I started to experience the exact issue with the check engine light which would come on and render certain systems inoperable such as cruise control, The light…

Lexus has a safety issue of the OEM pre-installed Slim profile Roof Rack on the car. There was no option to elect if one wants this or not. It's simply installed to make a quick buck from the customer. Besides that being said, this OEM pre-installed Slim profile Roof Rack is a safety hazard due to fact as you drive above 45mph-55mph, drive hears noises and causing drive to look around trying to figure out what is making that noise which can lead to swerving / cause accident. My less than a year old Lexus GX550 was sitting in the driveway and the sunroof exploded. The car was not moving and it exploded outwards into a ton of pieces. The dealership claims that it is not a warrantable part. No foreign object hit the sunroof, even then it shouldn't shatter, only crack. It is my assumption that defective glass from the factory was installed into my vehicle and caused the sunroof to shatter for no apparent reason.

The driver-side front door window developed a crack suddenly while the vehicle was in normal use. There was no known impact, and no object was seen or heard striking the glass. The crack originated near the edge of the window close to the side mirror and spread across the glass. There were no warning messages, alerts, or prior symptoms before the failure. The failure appeared spontaneous. This condition poses a safety concern because the integrity of the side window is compromised. The crack continued to spread, which could reduce occupant pr…

The driver, passenger, and rear tailgate electronic locks have all failed in the last 6 months on the car. I'm constantly having to remind my kids and wife to lock the doors before they start driving. I'm particularly concerned about the rear cargo door. The lock is failed in the "locked" position and there is not a manual lever to pull from the interior or exterior to unlock and open the door. I no longer allow my kids to ride in the 3rd row seat out of fear that there will be an incident where I need to get them out of the Cargo door and …

I am writing to demand a recall for a widespread and well-documented defect involving the sunroof drain lines in the Lexus GX460. Owners across multiple model years report that these drains frequently clog, disconnect, or deteriorate, resulting in severe water intrusion into the cabin. This defect is more than an inconvenience. Water intrusion routinely damages the headliner, carpets, and, most concerning, the electrical systems routed under the dash and along the floorboards. Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

I am writing to formally request an investigation into a safety defect affecting the dashboard on my 2004 Lexus GX470. Over the past several months, I have observed significant cracking along the top of the instrument panel. I believe this defect poses a serious safety hazard: if the dashboard material fractures or delaminates, it could interfere with proper expansion and deployment of the front passenger airbag in the event of a collision. Despite the severity of this condition, Lexus has only issued a “limited-service campaign” rather than a …

My vehicle made a stange sound and then stopped in the middle of the roadway causing a safety risk to myself and others. No warning light appeares until thia incident. Many vehicles were forced to switch lanes to avoid a collision with my vehicle. I had to called the local police to assist me in getting my vehicle to a safe location. I had the vehicle towed to the local Lexus Dealership and it was determined that the vehicle had a fuel pump failure. I am aware that the 2013 Lexus GX 460 was recalled for the same.issue; however, my vehicles …

I OWN A 2004 LEXUS GX470. IN JUNE 2016, I WAS TURNING INTO A DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM KICKED IN AND CAUSED THE CAR TO JERK BACK AND FORTH, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED AND IN IDEAL ROAD CONDITIONS, NO REASON FOR THE VSC TO KICK IN. THE VSC LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS SINCE REMAINED ON. SINCE THAT EVENT, THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM HAS KICKED IN FOR NO REASON NUMEROUS TIMES. JUST A FEW EXAMPLES, IN JULY, WHILE I WAS TRAVELING 25 MPH ON AN EXIT RAMP, SUDDENLY THE VSC TOOK OVER AND IT…

I was traveling east bound on 161/16/37 near Raccoon Valley Golf Course in Granville OH. I was near MM 104. It was approximately 8:13PM and the road conditions were clear. No other vehicles were in front of or behind me. I heard a screech, the wheel jerked out of my hand to the left, and the wipers came on. I tried to regain control and keep the vehicle on the road. The wheel kept tugging to the left and I was fighting to pull it right. At the same time, I was also pressing on the brake, but it went straight to the floor. I kept pumping on the …

I was driving on I4 Orlando FL and the vehicle just stalled. Almost got into an accident. The vehicle stopped on the middle of highway, the whole traffic stopped. No issues where noticed before the incident. No loss of power before or after the incident: The car was diagnosed by the dealership and the fuel pump is bad. Vehicle has roughly 130K miles.

NEXT DAY THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. NOT DRIVABLE. BRAKES ENDED UP ON FIRE CAUSE BY TRYING TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO SAFETY PARKING AREA. ENTIRE BRAKES SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED.$2500 LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN LAST WEDNESDAY. CAR STILL AT THE SHOP. I WAS VERY SHAKEN UP, CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IS DANGEROUS. NEW 2024 GX550, less than 2 months and 3,000 miles of ownership- accelerating to 40 mph and vehicle completely shut off, jolting me forward. All lights on dash lit up, "power steering failure, engine failure, not safe to drive." It was all I could do to get it off to the shoulder of the road. Extremely dangerous. Had vehicle towed to local Lexus dealer. After 2 weeks master tech determined timing chain snapped causing catastrophic engine failure. Now we wait for Lexus corporate to advise them on how to fix. Both dealer and corporate blaming eac…
