Owner report 11520927 · 2023-05-08 (May 8, 2023)

I've used cruise control for decades and use it even on city streets, so I can concentrate on the road rather than my speed. The concept of adaptive cruise control is great, but the execution is very flawed on my Mazda CX30. The system fails to recognize lane separation and turn lanes where lines do not exist. The result is the Mazda CX30 adaptive cruise frequently brakes to slow the car for vehicles not in the lane it is in. At some point this is going to result in a rear end accident, because of other vehicles not allowing proper distance…

The steering wheel seems to prematurely wear on newer Mazda vehicles including my Mazda CX-30 from 2022. Mazda claims hand sanitizer to be the main culprit but I suspect quality issues and materials to play a factor. Many can be found with wear on the steering wheel even starting with less than 50 thousand miles. Some have received warranty claims while others are denied.

I am writing to report a serious safety issue with my vehicle, which resulted in a crash. While driving, I suddenly heard a loud sound, followed by an unexpected and uncontrollable shift of the steering wheel to the right. At the same time, the car unexpectedly accelerated, causing me to lose control and crash into a parked vehicle. The airbags deployed, and my car was totaled as a result of the collision. There were no obstructions on the road at the time of the incident, and the vehicle veered to the right without any prior warning. The car …

I wondered if, after my first service visit on 11-12-25, the dealership put regular leaded gas instead of premium in it, because there was a noticeable difference in gas mileage and the engine started revving pretty high, in my opinion. It also seemed to have less power (which was my main reason foe thinking the wrong gas had been out in). And since then, it hasn't been the same.

I was driving my 2026 Mazda CX-30 in a parking lot and was pulling into a parking space at a very low speed. I lightly pressed the accelerator to move the car forward, but the car suddenly surged forward much faster than I intended or expected based on how lightly I had pressed the pedal. The sudden acceleration resulted in a collision and property damage. There were no warning lights, warning messages, or other dashboard alerts before or at the time of the incident. I do not know what specifically caused the car to accelerate this way. I am …

Manufacturing defect in the windshield glass: distorted/warped windshield glass causing waves/ripples. Result: impaired visibility when operating vehicle and rapid eye fatigue. Google search (forums) indicates that this is a well known issue on several Mazda models. The issue presumably existed at factory. I noticed upon purchase as CPO at 6k miles. I took delivery of a 2022 Mazda CX-30 recently, and noticed that the windshield was very distorted. Moving my head caused the image to shift in unexpected ways. The windshield was noticeably wavy and caused double vision. The dealer replaced the windshield, but the replacement is also noticeably wavy, with an almost orange peel look through the new windshield. The new windshield also distorts the active driving display as well, which was not apparent on the original. When I complained about the replacement, the dealer's service manager said tha…

Immediately after leasing my vehicle (2023 Mazda CX 30 Turbo) & leaving the dealer (no test drive), I noticed the windshield had a distorted view to it with a wavy/orange peel look covering the entire windshield. When looking at the cars in front of you, road signs, road lines, buildings they all had a orange peel/wavy distorted look to them. After 20 minutes of driving it starts to make you feel dizzy, sick, distorts vision & is very annoying. I went online & found a TSB from Mazda for the 20-22 models for the same problem. The car randomly starts driving or feeling 'jerky" as if cruise control has taken over - 'phantom braking' is a term I came across that sounds accurate to me. And now, after having the vehicle for almost 30 days- there is significantly less mpg.received. 300 first tank vs about 250 this current tank.

On April 15th, 2025, my 2022 Mazda CX-30 experienced a sudden malfunction while I was driving. Despite having the automatic emergency braking system and forward collision warning, the car failed to slow down or alert me before I hit another vehicle during a pile-up. Right after the collision, my dashboard lit up with multiple error messages about the forward collision system, brake system, and sensor malfunctions. I had the car towed to the dealership, where a full diagnostic scan was performed. It revealed multiple hard fault codes, including…

There have been 3 different ongoing issues. The car was ordered and delivered brand new in April 2022. At 4,000 miles and again at 12,000 mile is would display low oil and require 1 quart of oil. The dealership acknowledged that it has an oil consumption issue, unresolved. I have to bring it in every time it is low prior to its required oil change time/miles. At 19,742 miles the cars battery died. They replaced it an have no reason why it died. Every time I'm driving in the mountain pass the transmission will not advance above 3rd gear. The…

Low oil light came on twice in first 6,000K. Had to use a quart of oil (total) to refill. Oil dipstick showed low oil both times. Engine is consuming oil with no obvious leaks noticeable on exterior components.

It has an oil consumption issue. Every 3,000-3,500 miles is will give the oil low light. It will be 1 quart low. The car takes 6 quarts of 5w30 synthetic oil and requires oil changes every 7,500-8,000 miles. I have had to put a quart in every time. I have taken it into the dealership and a third party oil service as well. The dealership has no idea why it keeps running through the oil. They state that it's a known issue but no recall.

I purchased a new 2022 Mazda CX-30 in early 2022. While driving home from out of state recently, a low oil warning light popped up on the dash. I immediately pulled over and checked the level to find only 2-3mm of coverage on the dipstick, well below the safe range. I topped the engine off with a full quart of oil. The vehicle only had 68xx miles on it when this happened.

On December 26, 2022, after running errands for an hour or so and parking outside in parking lots, I restarted the car and pulled out of a parking lot. 3 dashboard warning lights flashed, one after the other: Engine malfunction, have vehicle inspected; Dynamic stability control malfunction, have the vehicle inspected; Safety and driver support systems partially disabled, drive safely. Vehicle was stuck in high gear and would not shift to lower gear as I pulled into the driveway (fortunately I was close to home), forcing me to have to floor the …
