Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 1997-2002, 2005-2024 LFS, 2009-2014, and 2016 - 2024 LFS Artic transit buses. The low brake air pressure warning light may fail to illuminate when the engine is off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: A low brake air pressure warning light that fails to illuminate when the engine is off will not alert the driver to a low brake pressure condition, increasing the risk of a crash if the parking brake is disengaged before starting the engine.

Remedy: Nova Bus will update the firmware, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by July 17, 2026. 25V101000 · Structure:Emergency:Escape/Egress/Exit

Reported: 2025-02-17 (February 17, 2025) · Model years: 2006, 2007

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2006-2007 LFS transit buses. The buses may have been built with an incorrect number of emergency exits. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Consequence: An insufficient number of emergency exits can prevent or delay passengers from exiting during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy: Nova Bus will replace some windows with emergency exit windows, free of charge. This is a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include 1 bus. Nova Bus will notify owners on or about 12/12/2025. Phase 2 will include 1 bus. Nova Bus will notify owners on or about 2/16/2026. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 866-870-2046. 21V151000 · Exterior Lighting:Brake Lights | Exterior Lighting:Tail Lights

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2008-2021 LFS Buses. The center-line height of the brake lights and tail lights is too high, exceeding the maximum height standard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Reduced visibility of the brake and tail lights can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners, and provide instructions for interchanging the positions of the brake light and tail light components with the turn signal light components, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 2021. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682.

16V191000 · Seats

Reported: 2016-04-05 (April 5, 2016) · Model years: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 Nova LFS transit buses manufactured from August 10, 2010, through November 5, 2015. The affected seats have J-Brackets that may be missing welds which could allow the seat belt anchorage assembly to separate from the J-Bracket.

Consequence: If the seat belt anchorage assembly separates from the J-Bracket, the bus driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seats for missing welds. If missing welds are found, the seats will be repaired, free of charge. The recall began on June 8, 2016. 22V902000 · Exterior Lighting

Reported: 2022-12-07 (December 7, 2022) · Model years: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2010-2021 LFS and 2009-2012 LFS Artic transit buses. These vehicles are equipped with non-standard color auxiliary lights which may impair the effectiveness of the standard lighting equipment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamp, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: The colorful lighting may cause confusion by distracting other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will remove the non-standard color lights, or replace them with white lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 31, 2023. Owners may contact Nova's customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR5350/5351.

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2011-2019 LFS city buses. The engine door fan electrical connector may not be able to handle the required current and may overheat, possibly resulting in a fire.

Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.

Reported: 2016-06-08 (June 8, 2016) · Model years: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Nova LFS and LFS Artic transit buses manufactured from June 18, 2012, through October 19, 2015. The affected transit buses have destinations signs that may not be properly secured and, as a result, the sign may fall.

Consequence: If an sign falls, there is an increased risk of injury to anyone under or standing near the sign.

23V277000 · Structure:Emergency:Escape/Egress/Exit

Reported: 2023-04-18 (April 18, 2023) · Model years: 2012, 2013, 2014

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2014 LFS and 2012-2013 LFS Artic transit buses. The emergency exit window release and label may have been installed in the incorrect location. In addition, the emergency exit window opening may be insufficient. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Consequence: In an emergency, the incorrect placement of the window exit release and label instructions or the insufficient window opening may prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Nova Bus will either remove the emergency exit window feature, and/or relocate the release mechanism, label, and chime cord stop-request system, as necessary, free of charge. 23V350000 · Seat Belts:Front

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2012-2022 LFS vehicles. The driver's seat belt may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Consequence: A seat belt that does not retract properly may result in a loose seat belt, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will adjust the recline angle of the seat-back rest, or add a spacer on the driver's seat, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR5419.

24V647000 · Seat Belts:Front

Reported: 2024-11-05 (November 5, 2024) · Model years: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2010-2020 LFS Artic and 2012-2024 LFS vehicles. The driver's seat belt may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Consequence: A seat belt that does not retract properly may result in a loose seat belt, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy: Nova Bus will install additional seat stoppers to the driver's rear partition, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 4, 2025. Nova's number for this recall is CR5635. This recall expands and replaces previous recall number 23V-350. Vehicles that were previously recalled under 23V-350 will need to have the new remedy completed.

14V380000 · Service Brakes, Air:Antilock:Abs Warning Light

Reported: 2014-06-30 (June 30, 2014) · Model years: 2013

Nova Bus is recalling certain model year 2004 and 2006-2013 LFS transit buses. Due to a programming error in the vehicle control unit, the ABS malfunction light may not illuminate if the ABS control unit loses power. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: If the ABS malfunction light does not illuminate if the ABS control unit loses power, the driver would not be aware that the ABS is not functional and that the brakes may unexpectedly lock up under certain conditions when the brakes are applied, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy: Nova Bus will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the instrument cluster, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in late August 2014. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR3200.

14V381000 · Electrical System:Alternator/Generator/Regulator

Reported: 2014-06-30 (June 30, 2014) · Model years: 2013, 2014

Nova Bus is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 LFS transit buses manufactured June 2010 to June 2014. In the affected vehicles, the terminal on the postive alternator cable may fracture causing the cable to arc to other components.

Consequence: Arcing of the alternator cable may result in an engine compartment fire.

Remedy: Nova Bus will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the terminal and replace it if it is damaged, free of charge. The recall began August 29, 2014. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR3201.

14V473000 · Visibility:Windshield Wiper/Washer:Linkages

Reported: 2014-08-01 (August 1, 2014) · Model years: 2013

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain model year 2013 Nova LFS transit buses. The bolt used to secure the windshield wiper linkage to the wiper motor may become loose over time.

Consequence: If the windshield wiper linkage loosens from the wiper motor, the wipers may become inoperable, reducing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners, and dealers will replace the bolt and nut that attach the windshield wiper linkage to the wiper motor, free of charge. The recall began in late September 2014. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682.

15V735000 · Structure:Body:Door

Reported: 2015-11-05 (November 5, 2015) · Model years: 2013, 2014, 2015

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 Nova LFS and 2013-2015 LFS Artic transit buses. The affected vehicles are equipped with an optical sensor for the passenger counter system whose location may result in a passenger's arm being pinched between the passenger counter housing and the door.

Consequence: A passenger could be injured if their arm is caught in the door.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners, and dealers will install a longer protective cover over the passenger counter system and add a warning label, free of charge. The recall began on November 23, 2015. 18V117000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Cooling System

Reported: 2018-02-17 (February 17, 2018) · Model years: 2013

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2013 LFS transit buses equipped with transmission oil coolers. In the event of a transmission oil cooler failure, transmission fluid may mix with coolant that circulates through the passenger compartment heating system. Exposure to transmission fluid may degrade the PEX connectors of the heating system, resulting in hot coolant leaking into the passenger area.

Consequence: Leaking coolant could come into contact with passengers, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners, and dealers will replace the PEX fittings with brass fittings, free of charge. The recall began on March 6, 2018. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR4226.

25V553000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Cooling System

Reported: 2025-08-26 (August 26, 2025) · Model years: 2013

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2013 LFS transit buses. The coolant hoses routed through the HVAC roof unit may fail and leak coolant into the passenger seating area.

Consequence: Hot coolant that leaks into the passenger seating area increases the risk of injury.

26V077000 · Seats

Reported: 2026-02-10 (February 10, 2026) · Model years: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2013-2019 LFS and 2019-2020 LFS Artic transit buses equipped with Double Transversal seats. The passenger seat mounting rails may crack, causing the seat to detach and fall to the floor.

Consequence: A seat that falls unexpectedly increases the risk of injury to passengers in or near to the seat.

Remedy: Nova Bus will replace the attachment brackets, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by April 10, 2026. 16V135000 · Visibility:Windshield Wiper/Washer:Linkages

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 LFS and LFS Artic vehicles manufactured from January 1, 2014, through February 15, 2016. On the affected vehicles, the pin on the wiper idler arm may strip causing the windshield wipers to become inoperative.

Consequence: If the windshield wipers become inoperative, visibility will be decreased, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wiper idler arm, free of charge. The recall began on April 21, 2016. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR3601.

Reported: 2019-07-02 (July 2, 2019) · Model years: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2014-2017 LFS and LFS Artic buses equipped with USSC cantilever seats. The hardware used to attach the cantilever seats to the side rail may have been improperly tightened. As a result, the cantilever seat may drop to the floor.

Consequence: If the cantilever seat drops while it is occupied, there is an increased risk of an injury.

18V299000 · Service Brakes, Air:Disc:Caliper

Reported: 2018-05-07 (May 7, 2018) · Model years: 2015, 2016, 2017

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Nova LFS and LFS Artic transit buses, equipped with axles with radial air disk brakes. Surface roughness of a guide pin in the radial brake calipers may cause the brake carriage guide pin support bolt to break.

Consequence: Breakage of the guide pin can cause loss of braking ability or loss of tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners and dealers will install new guide pins at each wheel end on suspect axles, free of charge. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR4079.

23V714000 · Seats:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2023-10-25 (October 25, 2023) · Model years: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2015-2019 LFS and LFS Artic transit buses. The attachment hardware may have been incorrectly installed beneath the rear wheel well passenger seats, allowing the seat to detach from the frame.

Consequence: A detached passenger seat may inadequately restrain a passenger during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Nova Bus will inspect and replace the attachment hardware as necessary, free of charge. 20V354000 · Electrical System:Software | Structure:Body:Door:Hinge And Attachments

Reported: 2020-06-15 (June 15, 2020) · Model years: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2016-2019 LFS buses. The safety mechanism that automatically re-opens the pneumatic rear passenger door in case of an obstruction may be inactive under certain conditions, allowing the doors to continue to close.

Consequence: The rear doors may continue to close while an occupant is in the doorway, increasing the risk of an injury.

Remedy: Nova will notify owners and will update the software for the safety mechanism, free of charge. The recall began July 9, 2020. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682.

20V457000 · Power Train:Automatic Transmission

Reported: 2020-08-05 (August 5, 2020) · Model years: 2016

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2016 LFS and LFS Artic buses equipped with specific Allison Transmission drive units. The pressure switches on these Drive Units may fail, possibly resulting in a loss of drive.

Consequence: A loss of drive can disable the vehicle unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, offloading passengers to transfer them to another bus can increase the risk of injury.

21V351000 · Fuel System, Diesel:Fuel Injection System:Fuel Rail

Reported: 2021-05-14 (May 14, 2021) · Model years: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

Nova Bus is recalling certain 2016-2020 LFS and LFS Artic vehicles. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rail threads, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 9, 2021. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682.

Reported: 2022-05-11 (May 11, 2022) · Model years: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2016-2020 LFS and 2013-2022 LFS Artic buses. The momentary STOP and YIELD text message board is duplicating the stop light and turn signal light signals. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: The momentary text message board duplicating light signals may cause confusion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova will coordinate with Prevost Service Centers to remove the momentary text message board duplicating light signals and associated equipment, free of charge. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2016-2019 LFS and LFS Artic buses. The brake chamber on the rear axle may have been improperly manufactured, which can result in an air leak.

Consequence: A brake chamber air leak may cause the brakes to engage unexpectedly, which can overheat the brakes and increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, unexpected braking can increase the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2016-2018, 2020, 2022-2023 LFS and 2019-2020 LFS Artic transit buses. The driver's seat belt tension-reliving device may fail to disengage without manual intervention. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Consequence: Failure of the tension-reliving device may prevent the seat belt from properly restraining the driver, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Nova Bus will remove the seat belt tension-reliving device, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2026. Consequence: A loss of drive can disable the vehicle unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2018-2022 LFS and 2018-2021 LFS Artic buses equipped with a Bosch steering gear box. The steering gear box may have an insufficient clamp load, which may allow the mounting plate sub-assembly fasteners to loosen and possibly fall out.

Consequence: Missing fasteners may cause a of a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Nova Bus will inspect and tighten the fasteners as an interim remedy. The permanent remedy, consisting of replacing and tightening new fasteners to increase the clamp load, is expected to be available November 30, 2022, free of charge. Consequence: An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2024 LFS buses. The wheelchair securement system may have been installed with the attachment points in the incorrect locations.

Consequence: Incorrectly located attachment points may prevent the securement system from adequately restraining the occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Nova Bus will reinstall securement system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus at 1-866-870-2046. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5674.

Reported: 2025-04-03 (April 3, 2025) · Model years: 2022, 2023

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Nova Bus LFS transit buses. The high voltage batteries may have loose hardware that can fall inside the battery pack and create a short circuit.

Consequence: A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Nova Bus will replace the batteries, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 5, 2025. A second letter will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5687.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS transit buses. The engine wiring harness may be the incorrect length, which can result in harness damage and a loss of drive power.

Consequence: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

25V368000 · Exterior Lighting:Turn Signal

Reported: 2025-06-11 (June 11, 2025) · Model years: 2022, 2023

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. A digital display firmware error may cause the instrument panel indicator lights to remain solidly illuminated even when the turn signal are off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: A faulty indictor light, that cannot provide the driver with information about the status of the turn signals, increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova Bus will update the digital display firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 7, 2025. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5732.

Consequence: An overloaded control unit may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2023 LFS Artic and 2023-2024 LFS vehicles. The instrument panel may fail to display the speedometer or incorrectly display warning lights, due to defective firmware. In addition, the firmware may result in a loss of drive power.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays."

Consequence: An instrument panel that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash. A loss of drive power also increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Novas Bus will update the instrument panel firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2024. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR5636.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Consequence: A loose seat belt may not adequately restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Consequence: The bus may suddenly slow or stop without the brake lights turning on, increasing the risk of a crash.

26V206000 · Visibility:Glass, Side/Rear:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2026-03-31 (March 31, 2026) · Model years: 2025

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2025 LFS and 2024 LFS Artic transit buses. Inadequate adhesion around the window frame may cause the glass to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Consequence: The glass can fall out of the frame, increasing the risk of ejection and injury during a crash. Detached window glass can also become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the glass as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed May 29, 2026. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5877.
