24V231000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Cooling System:Hoses/Lines/Piping/Fittings
Reported: 2024-03-27 (March 27, 2024)
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2020-2024 LFS vehicles. The engine coolant return hose may fail, leaking coolant and causing an engine shutdown.
Consequence: An unexpected engine shutdown can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Nova Bus will replace the engine coolant return hose, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 03, 2024. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus number for this recall is CR5577.

Reported: 2024-07-08 (July 8, 2024)
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2021-2024 LFS and 2021-2023 LFS Artic buses. An air leak may occur in the parking brake valve and unintentionally engage the parking brake without activating the brake lights.
Consequence: A bus that stops suddenly without activating brake lights increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and tighten the parking brake air line connections, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2024. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5615.

Reported: 2024-11-05 (November 5, 2024)
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2010-2020 LFS Artic and 2012-2024 LFS vehicles. The driver's seat belt may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Consequence: A seat belt that does not retract properly may result in a loose seat belt, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will install additional seat stoppers to the driver's rear partition, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 4, 2025. Nova's number for this recall is CR5635. This recall expands and replaces previous recall number 23V-350. Vehicles that were previously recalled under 23V-350 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2023 LFS Artic and 2023-2024 LFS vehicles. The instrument panel may fail to display the speedometer or incorrectly display warning lights, due to defective firmware. In addition, the firmware may result in a loss of drive power. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays."
Consequence: An instrument panel that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash. A loss of drive power also increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Novas Bus will update the instrument panel firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2024. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR5636.

Reported: 2024-09-09 (September 9, 2024)
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2024 LFS and 2019-2023 LFS Artic buses. The auxiliary heater module may allow contaminants to enter the electronic controller, which can cause an electrical short. Additionally, the auxiliary heater may fail, causing the defrosting system to not function properly.
Consequence: An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a windshield defrosting system that does not function properly can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will the auxiliary heater air intake, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5637.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2023 LFS Artic and 2022-2024 LFS buses. The coolant sensor could send a false signal, causing the engine to shut down.
Consequence: An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the coolant sensor as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 20, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5668.

Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2024 LFS buses. The wheelchair securement system may have been installed with the attachment points in the incorrect locations.
Consequence: Incorrectly located attachment points may prevent the securement system from adequately restraining the occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will reinstall securement system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus at 1-866-870-2046. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5674.

Reported: 2025-11-10 (November 10, 2025)
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2024-2025 LFS transit buses. The driver's seat belt may be pinched by the partition, preventing seat belt from retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Consequence: A loose seat belt may not adequately restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Nova Bus will adjust the seat base plate, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2021 and 2024-2025 LFS transit buses. The impeller shaft may be loose, causing the cooling pump to fail.
Consequence: A cooling pump failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the pump as necessary, free of charge. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2025 LFS transit buses. The telemetry control unit installed in parallel with the vehicle monitoring system may cause a data overload.
Consequence: An overloaded control unit may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will modify the connection configuration and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 29, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5882. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 1997-2002, 2005-2024 LFS, 2009-2014, and 2016 - 2024 LFS Artic transit buses. The low brake air pressure warning light may fail to illuminate when the engine is off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
Consequence: A low brake air pressure warning light that fails to illuminate when the engine is off will not alert the driver to a low brake pressure condition, increasing the risk of a crash if the parking brake is disengaged before starting the engine.
Remedy: Nova Bus will update the firmware, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by July 17, 2026. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5918. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2024-2025 LFS transit buses. The emergency brake valve may have been improperly tightened. A loose connection may cause an air leak and the unintentional activation of the parking brake.
Consequence: The bus may suddenly slow or stop without the brake lights turning on, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and properly tighten the air line connections as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 21, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5494.
