19 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V758000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017) · Model years: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018

Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V758-5764.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Thor will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

Remedy: Thor will notify owners, and dealers will rewire the BCC free of charge. The recall began on July 30, 2013. Customers may contact Thor at 1-877-855-2867. Thor's recall campaign number is RC000077.

The ABS and traction light come in 2022 F53 chassis and 2024 Thor Motor home. No cruise control and breaks seem to not function properly. Cruise control is disabled. Start and stopping the vehicle erases the light until 63mph then again comes on. Looking atvall the threads online I am surprised you have not pushed Ford for a solution. 2 times repairs but not fixed. Brand new and sat in shop since day one.

In November 2022 we discovered that both brackets holding the front nose piece to the frame had broken away. Then we discovered the wall on the front passenger side of the Motorhome had pulled away from the floor and left an inch gap between the floor and the wall. We were able to temporarily fix it until we arrived home and it sits in our driveway. Thinking maybe the broken brackets had caused the problem we removed the trim on both sides of the front. On the passenger side we found the screws were all broken off or pulled through the wall. On…

While traveling on I 87 in New York, the factory-installed receiver hitch broke off allowing my vehicle being towed to separate from my RV causing extensive damage to my 2019 GMC Acadia. This could have been catastrophic if the car had hit other vehicles on this heavily traveled road. There was no visible sign of cracking or metal fatigue prior to the separation. This is not the first time that a tow hitch has separated from a Thor RV.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
