20V498000 · Electrical System

Reported: 2020-08-21 (August 21, 2020)

Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Hurricane and Windsport motorhomes, models 27B, 29M, 32T, 33X, 34J, 34R and 35M. The electronic control center circuit board may be damaged from voltages over 17 volts causing damage to the circuit board.

Consequence: A damaged circuit board could increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Thor will notify owners, and dealers will add an additional circuit module to the existing component board to provide reverse polarity and over-current protection, free of charge. The recall began October 20, 2020. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-855-2867. Thor's number for this recall is RC000203.

A COUPLE OF CARDBOARD STORAGE BOXES WERE STORED IN AN EXTERIOR STORAGE COMPARTMENT OF OUR RV AND THE STORAGE LIGHT WAS NOT TURNED ON. ARRIVING AT OUR DESTINATION AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER I OPENED THE STORAGE COMPARTMENT TO FIND A HOLE BURNED IN THE STORAGE LIGHT LENS, A BURN MARK ON THE CARDBOARD STORAGE BOX AND THE LIGHT SWITCH COULD NOT BE MOVED TO TURN OFF THE LIGHT (APPEARED TO BE MELTED IN PLACE). I HAD TO REMOVE THE LENS AND BULB. *KB

The ABS and traction light come in 2022 F53 chassis and 2024 Thor Motor home. No cruise control and breaks seem to not function properly. Cruise control is disabled. Start and stopping the vehicle erases the light until 63mph then again comes on. Looking atvall the threads online I am surprised you have not pushed Ford for a solution. 2 times repairs but not fixed. Brand new and sat in shop since day one.

In November 2022 we discovered that both brackets holding the front nose piece to the frame had broken away. Then we discovered the wall on the front passenger side of the Motorhome had pulled away from the floor and left an inch gap between the floor and the wall. We were able to temporarily fix it until we arrived home and it sits in our driveway. Thinking maybe the broken brackets had caused the problem we removed the trim on both sides of the front. While traveling on I 87 in New York, the factory-installed receiver hitch broke off allowing my vehicle being towed to separate from my RV causing extensive damage to my 2019 GMC Acadia. This could have been catastrophic if the car had hit other vehicles on this heavily traveled road. There was no visible sign of cracking or metal fatigue prior to the separation. This is not the first time that a tow hitch has separated from a Thor RV.
