On July 4th I was merging into traffic onto I90W when my vehicle warning lights started flashing across the full spectrum. The gear shift show no indication of gear position and the Rv appeared to have jumped into neutral as I was accelerating and merging. The vehicle would not move forward causing full lane closure. I was flat towing a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. Law Enforcement arrived on scene and immediately had the vehicle towed due to interstate lane closure (safety issue). The Rv was towed to Rudig Jensen Ford in New Lisbon Wisconsin. Over…

Owner report 11527258 · 2023-06-15 (June 15, 2023)

A wiring harness was found pinched, pins bent and broken, apparently in the process of mating the motorhome body to the cassis cab. This cable has power in it and could result in a vehicle fire. Thor has been completely unresponsive in assisting me, despite acknowledging it’s out of warranty, and I simply needed verification of their integration to the chassis, to reassure the after market warranty that this wasn’t something “tampered with”. As a retired fire fighter, I have seen the result of RV fires. They burn fast, and people die. I felt I…

The engineering and structural integrity of 80%+ of the thousands of Thor Magnitudes /Omnis produced from 2019 through 2023 are extremely questionable from a safety perspective. After driving from California to New York, I saw that screws holding the Front Cap (cab over bunk) had started to back out and delaminated the trim. If the screws continue to back out, it is possible that the entire front cap attached to the Ford Chassis could break apart from the RV and injure the passengers or people on the road. I have reported this issue to Thor and I am awaiting feedback if they are able to repair. There are also many other Thor Magnitude customers reporting this issue online.

I stopped at a campground after leaving SC. Discovered a Thor factory solar panel had detached somewhere between SC and Arkansas. The mounting bracket was still attached to the roof but the bolts, washers and nuts were missing on 2 of the 4 mounts and the other mounts had loose components. It would have been a possible catastrophic event if it would have detached at highway speeds.

The primary issue involves the large, full-wall slide-out system on our motorhome. Since new, the front portion of the slide has shifted outward during travel, even while fully retracted. This led to the slide binding and becoming inoperable. The manufacturer attempted to fix the issue twice at their factory service center. Their most recent solution involved providing a makeshift brace, essentially a stick, intended to wedge the front of the slide in place during transit. Since then, the issue has progressed. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

The contact owns a 2022 Thor Motor Coach Magnitude. The contact stated that the solar inverter failed to function as intended. The contact was unable to turn off or turn off the inverter. The warning lights were illuminated. A mobile RV mechanic arrived at the residence and diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the inverter Freedom 2000 was underrated for the vehicle and the compartment was not vented for heat. The contact was informed that the compartment was extremely HOT, and the metal inside turned blue where the positive wire was attac…

The rear of the slide is now also m…

Over…

The engineering and structural integrity of 80%+ of the thousands of Thor Magnitudes /Omnis produced from 2019 through 2023 are extremely questionable from a safety perspective. Thor Motor Coach, Inc. takes no responsibility for this, but the front caps of these motorhomes are separating from the rest of the coach. Thor refuses to issue a recall or further to cover a proper repair for this significant manufacturer defect. Thor will not even acknowledge that this is a structural issue due to faulty workmanship. The length, quality and quantity o…
