THE DEALER CONTINUES TO INSIST THERE IS NO PROBLEM, BUT HAD TO TURN THE ROTOR AT 15,000 TO 20,000 AND THE ROTOR IS NOW NEEDING REPLACMENT AT 32,000 -- THERE ARE ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS SUCH AS A GAS SMELL WHEN THE AC IS USED FOR EXTENDED TIME AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AND NOW A GRINDING/ROCKETY SOUND TO THE AC AREA
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THE DRIVERS FOOT OFTEN HIT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IF THE DRIVER DID NOT MOVE HIS FOOT SUFFICIENTLY TO THE LEFT. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHILE BRAKING. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE PEDALS ARE POSITIONED TOO CLOSE. *AK *NLM

CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 201, "OCCUPANT PROTECTION IN INTERIOR IMPACT."
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS DO NOT DEPLOY, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF INCREASED HEAD INJURY TO THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SHOULD CONTACT WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER OCCUR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL NEW ENERGY ABSORBING AIR BAG MOUNTING BRACKETS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 23, 2002.
