Owner report 11595061 · 2024-06-18 (June 18, 2024)
The receiver hitch for trailering is experiencing abnormal metal fatigue and deformation. The motorhome was factory equipped with a receiver hitch that shows a rating of 12,000 lbs and a 1200 lb tongue weight. I have towed both an enclosed trailer with a max weight of less than 4000lbs and a Jeep Gladiator in the flat tow configuration. The Jeep weighs less than 5000 lbs. With both of these towed vehicles being less than 50% of the receivers' rated capacity, I believe there is a manufacturing defect with the supplied receiver hitch. I am c…

Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
20V337000 · Visibility:Glass, Side/Rear
Reported: 2020-06-09 (June 9, 2020)
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2020 Motorized Alante, Greyhawk, Melbourne, Precept, Redhawk, Seneca, Accolade, Emblem, Esteem, Odyssey, Qwest, and Vision recreational vehicles. The adhesive bond between the glass and the metal hinge frame of the frameless crank out vent and egress windows may fail which would then allow the glass to detach and fall out.
Consequence: If the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the frameless windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary, free of charge. This recall began June 15, 2020. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901508.
NHTSA campaign record ↗22V121000 · Tires:Valve
Reported: 2022-03-03 (March 3, 2022)
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Seneca, Seneca Prestige, Entegra Accolade and Accolade XL motorhomes. The tire valve stem extension for the inner wheel may come into contact with the outer wheel rim opening and become damaged.
Consequence: Damage to the valve stem extension may result in a loss of tire pressure of the inner wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Daimler Trucks North America, LLC will remove the inner valve stem extension and stabilizer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2022. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is FL912 21V-921.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
