Owner report 727990 · 2000-08-15 (August 15, 2000)
DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE LEAN ON THIS MOTORHOME IT IS NOT AN EASY VEHICLE TO DRIVE. IT EASILY CAN BE UNMANAGABLE. THE STRESS ON THE TIRES ON THE RIGHT SIDE EVEN WHEN FILLED WITH THE PROPER AMOUNT OF AIR PRESSURE CAUSES THE DUALLIES TO ALMOST TOUCH EACHOTHER (1/4 INCH AND THEY WOULD). WE TOOK THE UNIT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY KEPT THE UNIT FOR 10 DAYS THEN TOLD US IT ONLY NEEDED AIR IN THE RIGHT SIDE TIRES. THEY OBVIOUSLY NEW IT WAS MORE THAN THAT BECAUSE THEY SENT PICTURES AND MEASUREMENTS TO THE MANUFACTURER, THE DEALERSHIP DIDNT TELL…

Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
00V104000 · Tires:Temporary/Emergency Spare Tire
Reported: 2000-04-10 (April 10, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS C MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH A SPARE WHEEL . THIS WHEEL HAS INSUFFICIENT WEIGHT CARRYING CAPACITY WHEN MATCHED TO A MAXIMUM LOADED TIRE. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS."
Consequence: PREMATURE WHEEL FAILURE CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SPARE WHEEL WITH A NEW HIGHER CAPACITY WHEEL.

Reported: 2003-11-04 (November 4, 2003)
ON CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH SAMSUNG MICROWAVE OVENS, THESE OVENS WERE PRODUCED WITH A DEFECTIVE PANEL. AN ELECTRICAL SHORT CAN OCCUR BETWEEN CIRCUIT PATTERNS ON THE MEMBRANE PANEL, ESPECIALLY OVERLAPPED BY A "JUMPER" OR JUMP WIRE. THIS MAY CAUSE THE OVEN TO ACTIVATE WITHOUT PRESSING ANY KEY PADS.
Consequence: AN ELECTRICAL SHORT CAN OCCUR CAUSING THE OVEN TO ACTIVATE WITHOUT PRESSING ANY KEY PADS. THIS COULD RESULT IN EXCESSIVE HEAT, SMOKE, OR POSSIBLY A FIRE.
Remedy: SAMSUNG WILL NOTIFY CUSTOMERS AND REPAIR THE PANEL FREE OF CHARGE. IN THE MEANTIME, CONSUMERS SHOULD UNPLUG THEIR MICROWAVE, IF POSSIBLE. IF THE CONSUMER IS UNABLE TO UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE, THEY SHOULD LEAVE THE DOOR AJAR UNTIL THE PANEL IS REPLACED. CONSUMERS SHOULD NEVER USE THE MICROWAVE OVEN FOR STORAGE OR LEAVE ANY TOWELS, PAPER, CLOTH OR OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE MICROWAVE AFTER USE. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT SAMSUNG AT 800-932-3837 OR FLEETWOOD AT 1-800-629-8454.

DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
