Owner report 11429951 · 2021-08-21 (August 21, 2021)

While accelerating on a busy tollway, the automatic transmission got stuck in 6th gear. The car then began to slow down, and the gear display went blank. This put my safety and the safety of others at risk, as it happened in the left lane of a busy, high-speed tollway. The local dealership refused to help--even though the car is within warranty--as they did not believe the issue was replicable. However, the car had a similar problem on a lower-speed roadway just a few weeks prior. In both incidents, the transmission became stuck in one gear, th…

Backup camera does not always work and cuts out. Also, the 360 view cameras cut out. It is hard to see in the back during low light conditions with tinted back window. Afraid would hit someone or something when backing out in public parking spaces etc. or from home driveway. Yes, it was brought to dealer's attention in April 2021 right after vehicle was purchased and then again followed up July 2020 with no updates or repairs. Dealer acknowledged the issue and said the part is on back order.

The reverse camera system does not display any images, i.e., the screen is black/blue (depending on night/day) and provides no view of what is behind the vehicle. The motion and parking sensors are still providing input, but the driver cannot see what the sensors are detecting. Since this is a large SUV with multiple blind spots, this creates a hazard when trying to back up the vehicle.

Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy properly during a crash increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver and passenger front door side impact sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 3, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21C26.

Brand new 2024 ford expedition bought on 12/18/2024, came with a hairline crack on the transmission housing. Only leaked while driving at operating temperature. First noticed leak at 1600 miles transmission started operating faulty shortly there after. Could have been much worse if transmission failed at highway speeds. Dealer found hairline crack at around 4000 miles after multiple dealer visits. Currently at shop awaiting new transmission from manufacturer.

When turning it on, it doesn't go on and you have to try to back up this monster without a camera. While driving down the road, the sunroof spontaneously exploded. The loud bang (sounded like a gun shot) and tiny pieces of glass, that luckily were caught in the sunshade, could have been disastrous for my wife and our three small children that were in the car. The glass is bowed outwards. It has been taken back to Mullinax Ford Dealership for repair. They tell me it will not be covered under any warranty. There were no warning signs before now that there could be a problem with this sunroof, we only have 5k miles on the vehicle.

Also when driving down hils the transmission jerks. The vehicle shouldn't have transmission problems already. The transmission in this vehicle should have a recall. 10-Speed transmission frequently shifts hard, and sometimes misses a shift entirely resulting in no power for a few seconds while the transmission tries to "find" the right gear. This has occurred in busy intersections which obviously presents a major safety risk. Awkward shifting started about 2 months ago, complete loss of power has occurred 3 times in that time period. Vehicle is currently sitting in a Ford dealership service department awaiting diagnoses and repair since 5/29/23.

It feels like the transmission has completely dropped out or that I have been hit but I have not been hit, it’s just the jerking motion I was feeling. It has happened both when excelerating to change lanes and also when promptly slowing to avoid someone coming into my lane. It is a really scary situation and when I looked it up, apparently has been documented…
