19V633000 · Seats:Mid/Rear Assembly | Seats:Front Assembly:Recliner

Reported: 2019-08-28 (August 28, 2019)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2020 F-150 and 2019-2020 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty pickup trucks, and 2018-2019 Ford Explorer, 2019-2020 Expedition, and 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with driver and/or passenger's manual front seat back recliner mechanisms. Also included are certain 2020 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with rear outboard seats and manual seat back recliner mechanisms. The recliner mechanisms may be missing the third pawl required for seat back strength, resulting in a loose seat back. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 202, "Head Restraints" and 207, "Seating Systems."

Consequence: A seat back with an improperly assembled recliner mechanism may have reduced strength and may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and Ford and Lincoln dealers will inspect the seat structure and replace them, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 21, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19C07.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Ranger and F-150 vehicles equipped with 10-speed automatic transmissions and certain 2020 Expedition vehicles equipped with a "police" package. The transmission shift cable lock clip may not be fully seated, allowing the transmission to actually be in a different gear than the gear shift position selected by the driver.

Consequence: If the transmission selection does not match the indicated gear selection, and the parking brake is not applied, unintended vehicle movement can occur, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the shift cable locking clip installation, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S18.

Reported: 2020-05-08 (May 8, 2020)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with camera-only Pre-Collision Assist feature. Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat belt buckle, free of charge. The recall began October 16, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S54.

Specific: The vehicle's cruise control would be on and active, set at various speeds; 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 (long, straight road with varying speed limits). In different circumstances (sometimes when being overtaken by another vehicle, or cresting a hill or when beginning to climb a hill), the speed control, while set would immediately, wit…

I rented the vehicle in question from Hertz. The vehicle's cruise control and vehicle acceleration system repeatedly malfunctioned over the course of several days. I would have cruise control set for 35 mph and the vehicle would automatically re-set cruise control to 55 or 65 mph. Likewise, I could have the cruise control set for 55 mph or 75 mph and it would automatically on its own re-set the cruise control to 85 mph and even, in a couple cases, 100 mph.

On at least 5 separate occasions the vehicle has slowed significantly and failed to downshift in order to accelerate. This has been accompanied by high transmission temps and power train warnings. In one instance the vehicle slowed to below 40 mph on an expressway with a speed limit of 70. Eventually the vehicle will downshift with a harsh and erratic shift which will then accelerate the vehicle. I'm at the point where it does not feel safe to have the vehicle on the expressway.

In January 2025, the vehicle was diagnosed with a failed CDF drum within the 10-speed transmission. We paid $4,610.13 out of pocket for this repair. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has experienced several issues, particularly with the transmission. Before the transmission was replaced, the dealer attempted to repair it twice but was unable to resolve the problem. After the replacement transmission was installed, the same symptoms returned within one to two weeks, including harsh shifting, shuddering, and harsh engagement when shifting into reverse and park. ON OCTOBER 19, 2020 MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TRAVELING ON I295 SOUTH NEAR JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA WHEN WE HEARD AN EXTREMELY LOUD EXPLOSION SIMILAR TO A GUNSHOT INSIDE THE FORD EXPEDITION. THE NOISE WAS SO JARRING MY HUSBAND JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL BUT QUICKLY GAINED CONTROL. WE WERE LUCKY THERE WEREN'T ANY CARS IN THE LEFT LANE BECAUSE WE COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. WE WEREN'T SURE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. AS WE QUICKLY ASSESSED THE SITUATION, WE COULD HEAR THE SOUND OF GLASS CRACKING ABOVE US. THE SUN VISOR ABOVE US WAS CLOSED AS WELL AS THE SUNROO…

Transmission is slipping very bad. Really shifts hard between gears, especially from 4th to 5th gear. Went to pass a vehicle, on acceleration the transmission slipped and the engine rpm's went very high. I let off the accelerator and the gear caught. I thought the transmission was done at that time.

Can be driving on freeway at 70 mph and all of sudden vehicle stalls or transmission begins to slip or stall. Make this grinding clinking sound.all lights on dash light up. Nearly caused a crash . Vehicle jerks and jumps back into gear and then takes off again. Will also do this at even 35 mph too. This has happened numerous times. We have taken it in to Ford and they can’t find anything wrong with it

I own the above listed 2020 Expedition. We were traveling on Interstate 287 yesterday. I was in the right lane and was stuck behind a slow moving semi truck. I put on my blinker and waited for an opening in traffic to move into the middle lane. When an opening presented itself I pressed down on the gas pedal to accelerate into traffic. While the truck should have down shifted and accelerated, instead the powertrain completely disengaged; a total loss of power. The rpm jumped way up to redline, over revving, but the truck was slowing down.…

Driving on freeway and slowed down due to traffic and trucks ahead. Got over into left lane, accelerated and vehicle stalled then jerked forward. Wrench light came on. Got off the freeway, turned vehicle off and waited 5 minutes. Another time was driving up the grapevine to LA, vehicle stalled and again quickly accelerated forward. I got off the freeway to allow the vehicle to rest. Third incident, driving on freeway, wrench light again appeared. When taking long road trips, I must stop every 2 hours in order for vehicle to not stall and to eli…

Driving on a 4-lane highway when a box truck directly ahead stopped quickly due to a stopped car ahead of it. The forward collision warning flashed and beeped, but when forcefully applying the brakes, the brake pedal only pulsed (like anti-lock brakes) but didn't slow the car even enough for the driver or passenger to feel any inertia moving forward in their seats or with their heads. The automatic emergency braking also didn't work, leading to a rear-end collision forceful enough to push the box truck into the car in front of it, apparently …

I've taken my car in for over a year multiple times for the same issue. When driving the car will jerk almost as if I've hit a car and power goes down. Many times it fails to go when accelerating after this has happened. The movement of the car is worrisome and the loud noise made can be heard out the car. When this happens the steering locks up and makes it hard to turn along with the power going out. I've been told on each occasion that nothing can be found. It never throws a code, this past weekend while traveling it threw a code TSB #23-224…

1. Power train (transmission) slips causing the vehicle to jerk. Issue is most noticeable when accelerating out of 3/4 gear to 5th and into 10th. Yes available. 2. The vehicle randomly without a noticeable pattern, and when stopped at a light, the engine would shutoff (which is designed with auto start stop) but when stepping on the gas pedal, would not start back up.
