I WAS PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND PUT ON THE BRAKE, AND THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THE CAR CRASHED THRU THE GARAGE DOOR. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, BUT IT DIDN'T RESPOND. IT TOOK ABOUT 5 SECONDS FOR IT TO ENGAGE. THEN ONCE IT ENGAGED IN REVERSE, IT WAS OUT OF MY CONTROL, AS THE CAR SHOT BACK AT A HIGH SPEED, BOUNCED UP A CURB AND HIT THE NEIGHBOR'S DECK. AGAIN, THE BRAKES WERE NOT RESPONDING TO STOP THE CAR. THERE WERE BURN RUBBER MARKS SHOWING THE SPEED OF THE REVERSE. I FELT THE CAR HAD CONTROL NOT ME. THIS TIME IT ALSO TOOK SEVERAL SECON…

The entire instrument panel/cluster went out while driving. It did come back on after going totally black. We had no ability to see speed, fuel, or any cameras. This happened yesterday, May 13, 2025. We are trying to get an appointment at the dealership to address it. There does not appear to be any error codes recorded by the vehicle for this event, according to the app. It appears that this problem is the same as an existing recall for G80 vehicles through 2024. Oil light keeps coming on suddenly, I looked online and there are many people who have had the same issue. It's only intermittent, and turns off when moving and turns on when idle. The first time it came on was when I was crawling on a first time in forever frozen Alabama road. I was very careful not to start sliding, and when the sign came on I panicked and ended up in a ditch. The safety issue comes from not knowing if this is a sensor issue or an actual oil issue. Most people stated that it was a sensor issue but to replace it, you must acce…

My 2018 Genesis G80 has an issue in which the A/C quits working and blows warm air on the driver's side. I live in Florida where the heat is stifling and having warm air blowing during the high temperatures is dangerous. There is a known issue with these vehicles where the Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch triggers at idle and low RPMs but nothing is necessarily wrong other than the sensor itself. However, since the sensor malfunctions, owners can’t know if the pressure is actually bad or if oil levels are normal. This is a safety concern for all owners. However, Genesis is requiring owners to pay around $3000 to repair this. Most of the models are 2017-2019, which are past its manufacturer warranty years.

Component: Engine / Turbocharger / Oil Line / Fire Risk Vehicle Problem: For the past five months, my oil light has been coming on and off sporadically (not flickering), even though mechanics and oil shops said there was no issue. A few days ago, the car started smoking out of nowhere, though it wasn’t overheating and there were no visible signs of leakage. I took it to the shop, and they diagnosed a turbocharger oil supply pipe leak that is severe and poses a fire risk. I am in a new city with no support system and have a baby. Multiple car …

For over one year we have been in contact with Round Rock Genesis in Round Rock, Texas about recalls # 254 & 018G (NHTSA Recall # 24V107000). Our Genesis G80 is now 6 years old. These recalls have not been performed because the dealership claims that they cannot get the needed parts. Recalls # 201 and 006G are meant to address the anti-lock braking system. Failure to address these recalls poses a risk of brake f…

1)AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION - LOOKS LIKE IT IS WORKING IN 20-30% OF CASES, NEVER WORKING WITH PEDESTRIANS. SERVICE DECLARED EVERYTHING FINE, BUT REJECT DEMONSTRATE THIS. 2)LINE KEEP ASSISTS - PERIODICALLY DEPARTURE CAR FROM THE LINE, IT HAPPENS DURING PERFECT WEATHER CONDITIONS AND ROAD MARKUP. 3) VIBRATION IS AT THE VERY HIGH LEVEL, PERIODICALLY INCREASED AND SOME TIME GOES AWAY, EVEN WHEN CAR STAY. BY MEASURE 4-5 TIMES GREATER THAN IN ANY OTHER CAR. SERVICE TOLD - BECAUSE IMPROPER ENGINE MOUNT, THEY CAN'T…

Steering becomes unresponsive after highway speed for an hour or more. Feels like sticking or binding (loss of power assist?) and considerable effort needed to adjust vehicle direction. Most notable on exit ramps. Several times I came close to going off an exit ramp onto the shoulder. Even driving along a straight highway the steering is no longer smooth or consistent. Thus, steering is very unpredictable. This is definitely a safety issue. This started at 29,000 mile about 2 weeks ago and has not gone away. The first dealer service appointmen…

When turning, steering wheel sticks and does not return to center. It is necessary to use some additional effort to force the wheel back to center. No warning lamps or diagnostic trouble codes. Clear safety issue that has been documented by numerous other owners of the Genesis G80, and a known issue by Hyundai Motors / Genesis, as they will replace the Rack Mounted Motor-Driven Power Steering Assembly under the manufacturer's warranty. My vehicle is a few months out of warranty, with estimated repair cost of approximately $5k. For all owners of…
