I HAVE A 2002 HAYABUSA MOTORCYCLE. ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE BIKE THE STARTER GEAR WOULD SLIP AND I WOULD HEAR AN ABNORMALLY LOUD CLANKING SOUND. FINALLY, I ATTEMPTED TO START THE BIKE AND THE STARTER WOULD NOT ENGAGE, (JUST SPINNING UP). I HAD TO HAVE THE BIKE TOWED ($75) TO THE DEALER WHO IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. WHEN I CALLED SUZUKI USA THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THE ISSUE IS DISCUSSED IN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 126 ISSUED BY SUZUKI. WHILE DRIVING UNDER 30 MPH MY MOTORCYCLE'S CHAIN SNAPPED. MANUFACTURER AND DEALERSHIP WERE CONTACTED. *AK THIS FAILURE CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE UNDER SIDE OF THE BIKE TOTALING $2300. THE CONSUMER PAID FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED ASSISTANCE. *NM

THERE IS A FAILURE IN THE SEAL FOR THE CLUTCH ROD. CONTAMINENTS ARE GETTING IN AND DISCOLORING THE DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID. THIS DISCOLORATION IS THE FIRST SIGN OF FAILURE AND YET THE DEALER SAYS TO CHANGE ONLY DURING NORMAL MAINTENANCE, TWO YEARS.
