I SUGGEST YOU LOOK AT THE NEW LINE OF RVS FROM WINNEBAGO, CALLED THE "VUE" AND THE "NAVION" IN THEIR ITASKA LINE. ACCORDING TO THE STICKERS IN THE ONES I SAW, THEY HAVE A NET CARRYING CAPACITY THAT IS UNDER 350 POUNDS. THAT IS THE WEIGHT OF TWO AVERAGE ADULTS. THERE IS THEREFORE NO ROOM FOR ANY CLOTHING, FOOD, OR OTHER ITEMS; TRULY AN OVERLOADED UNSAFE DESIGN. *NM

05V265000 · Suspension:Rear:Springs:Air Suspension System:Springs/Bags

Reported: 2005-06-06 (June 6, 2005)

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH OPTIONAL REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAGS, THE UPPER MOUNT CAN MOVE AND CONTACT THE TIRE.

Consequence: THIS COULD DAMAGE THE TIRE AND CAUSE VEHICLE INSTABILITY WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAG UPPER MOUNT REINFORCEMENT KIT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 17, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-641-585-6939.

Reported: 2005-12-28 (December 28, 2005)

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH KWIKEE BRAND ELECTRIC STEPS, THE STEPS MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH DEFECTIVE STEP CONTROL UNITS.

Consequence: THE DEFECTIVE CONTROL UNITS COULD DEVELOP AN ELECTRICAL SHORT ALLOWING FOR THE POTENTIAL OF THE PLASTIC CASE TO IGNITE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR VEHICLE AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE KWIKEE STEP AND REPLACE THE STEP CONTROL UNIT, IF NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 23, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-800-537-1885.

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES, THE EXTERIOR SLIDEOUT STORAGE DRAWER CAN INADVERTENTLY SLIDE OUT DURING NORMAL HIGHWAY OPERATION.

Consequence: THIS COULD IMPACT NEARBY PERSONS OR OBJECTS RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/;OR VEHICLE AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A SECONDARY CATCH ON THESE MOTOR HOMES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 15, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-614-585-3535.

10V470000 · Seat Belts

Reported: 2010-10-05 (October 5, 2010)

WINNEBAGO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 THROUGH 2011 WINNEBAGO VIEW AND ITASCA NAVION MOTOR HOMES BECAUSE THE DINETTE AREA SEAT BELT RESTRAINTS ON THOSE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES." IN A COLLISION, THE GENERATED CRASH FORCES CAN CAUSE THE RESTRAINT'S ATTACHMENT TO TEAR AND ALLOW THE ANCHOR TO SEPARATE FROM THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE.

Consequence: IF THE RESTRAINT SEPARATES FROM THE VEHICLE DURING A CRASH, THE BELT WILL NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN THE SEAT OCCUPANT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH TO THE OCCUPANT.

Remedy: WINNEBAGO WILL ADD ADDITIONAL SEAT BELT ANCHORAGES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-800-537-1885.

THE BUNK LADDER WAS STORED DURING TRANSIT IN THE PROVIDED MOUNTING CLIPS BY THE ENTRANCE DOOR AND CAME CRASHING DOWN DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. I HAVE A 2006 DODGE SPRINTER CHASSIS WITH A WINNEBAGO MOTOR HOME COACH. THE BRAKES ARE SO SOFT THAT THEY GO TO THE FLOOR AT TIMES. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER TWICE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEY TELL ME IT IS NORMAL. I AM SURE THAT SOMEDAY I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE BRAKES FAILING. *JB
