First time I used the Carefree automatic Awning, it would not fully retract. With Winnebago customer service on my phone I did everything they suggested and it still would not fully retract. While awaiting road side service to arrive at my camp site it suddenly retracted all by itself as I sat outdoors waiting. I was alone with nobody inside the RV. After it operated without anyone at the controls I was concerned it might open while driving so I removed the fuse and have not used it again.

THE BUNK LADDER WAS STORED DURING TRANSIT IN THE PROVIDED MOUNTING CLIPS BY THE ENTRANCE DOOR AND CAME CRASHING DOWN DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. IF WE DID THIS WE'D HAVE A 9 POUND PROJECTICLE FLYING THROUGH THE COACH IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT OR HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY. HAVING A LOOSE LADDER SLIDING AROUND IS NOT AN ADEQATE SAFETY SOLUTION.

Traveling East on the PA Turnpike at approx. 7:00 PM traveling at 68/70MPH we heard a sudden noise that sounded like a rear wheel rim had come off or a tire blow out. A passing car/truck motioned on the drivers side pointing to the back of the RV. We had to slow down immediately and try to find enough room to pull over on the shoulder which was difficult due to the 8 ft width of the RV and the 26 ft length of the RV where it would be safe. A panel on the roof of the vehicle detached while driving at highway speed (60MPH). The panel is held on by bolts and affixed to the roof with glue. The glue failed and the bolts do not attach directly to the roof. The panel is fairly heavy and large and would present a major hazard to a following vehicle. This has been confirmed by the dealer and the detached panel is available for inspection. There was no warning prior to the detachment of the panel. The Winnebago name for the panel is "Panel Trim Front Cap, LH #329370-01-CHT".

Picked up our brand new Winnebago in Boise, ID on [XXX]. While en route to our home in the Seattle area I noticed a loud flapping noise while driving on the highway. I could see the plexiglass window that is part of the RV coach door was coming loose and flapping in the wind. Upon further inspection I could see that the bottom and top portion of the plexiglass was no longer adhered to the door frame. It was only held in place by the middle portion that was still adhered to the door. I put tape on the door to hold the plexiglass in place until …

Equalizer front stabilizer jacks become loose after repeated usage. If not corrected, they will eventually bend enough that they break creating an unsafe condition if the RV falls while elevated. Repairs were performed on my rig where an upgraded bracket was installed. The Equilizer 3724R and 3729R brackets replace the inferior 335586 and 335589 brackets. From what I can tell, Winnebago installed these Equalizer jacks as an option on several Mercedes Chassis’s over a number of years.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
