IIHS IIHS has recognized Fruehauf’s rear underride protection with a Toughguard award. The recognition covers the company’s 53-foot enclosed freight trailers manufactured after September 30, 2026. To qualify, a rear guard must keep a midsize car from passing underneath the trailer in three rear-impact configurations, including a difficult test where only one corner of the guard takes the impact.
