MY PROBLEM DEALS WITH THE RECALL ON THE DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR THAT IS INSTALLED IN MY RV. MY REFRIG. FALLS IN THE GROUP OF AFFECTED UNITS. THE RECALL ADDRESSES REPLACING A SHIELD OVER THE GAS (FLAME) TO PROTECT AGAINST FIRE IF THE TUBE, ON THE REFRIG. CRACKS, AND LEAKS ONTO THE FLAME THEREFORE CAUSING A FIRE. I UNDERSTAND THIS, HOWEVER THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM THE TUBE BREAKING IS THE PROBLEM AND THAT CAUSES THE FLUID TO LEAK DOWN ONTO THE GAS/FLAME. Similar to recall 22V-273 for older Tiffin Allegro Bays and Open Roads, our 2024 Allegro Bay slide room comes out 6-8" on it's own and has now started coming out while driving. Part supplier Lippert confirms it and says parts are being manufactured to address the problem. This has been an issue since purchase and the dealer, Tiffin and Lippert are all aware. There is no warning that the slide is creeping other than wind noise.
Dear NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline, I am reporting possible safety defects involving my 2026 Tiffin Allegro Bay 38AB motorhome. We purchased it new from Blue Compass RV in [XXX], on XXX I have observed the following issues: 1. On the drive home immediately after delivery, hydraulic fluid leaked from somewhere near the front driver’s side and spread over the driver’s side of the RV. The source of the leak has not been confirmed. 2. The motorhome has an alignment problem that needs assessment. 3. The passenger-side slide does not retract proper…
Shortly following delivery of the motorhome, there appeared a catastrophic crack in the fiberglass on the leading side of the overhead bunk (driver's side). Left unresolved, the primary safety concern is that the crack will expand and, while traveling (especially at higher speed), the top portion of the overhead bunk will separate from the motorhome - putting motorists traveling behind, and anyone then in the overhead bunk, at risk. The motorhome has been inspected by an independent I-CAR Gold Class repair professional and remains available f…

The recall listed under Tiffin-142, involves the sub-frame truss collapse that could cause a fire. The NHTSA RECALL # 24V-669. Tiffin has failed to instruct or direct a direct link to an engineer for advise. Tiffin made arrangements with Rush Truck Leasing Company, Phoenix Arizona, to make the repairs, and it now sits for three days with no specific direction to repair. All of this should have been addressed prior to the notice!!

TRAVELING DOWN ROAD AND SMELLED BURNING. PARKED AFTER A SHORT DISTANCE UNTIL NEXT DAY. BRAKES WERE NOT RELEASING. NEXT DAY AFTER COOLING, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE FACILITY, HOWEVER ADVISED BRAKES WERE FINE. APPROXIMATELY A MONTH LATER I WAS BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR AN UNRELATED MATTER. I HAD DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 75 MILES AND WAS NEAR THE DEALER WHEN THE SAME SMELL OCCURRED. DEALER FOUND THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE CALIPER HAD FAILED. IT WAS CHANGED. BRAKES BECAME HOT AFTER DESCENDING A STEEP HILL. BUT DID NOT COOL OFF WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT HIGHWAY FOR 40 MILES. THEY BECAME EXTREMELY HOT AFTER 40 MILES AND PEDAL REQUIRED VIGOROUS PUMPING TO ACTIVATE AT ALL WHEN I PULLED INTO A REST AREA. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF BRAKE FAILURE BEFORE TURNING INTO THE REST AREA BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE TO APPLY THE BRAKES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FLAT ROAD. AFTER COOLING OVERNIGHT THE BRAKES WERE NORMAL. *TR

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
