When I purchased this vehicle, I was told that all ADAS features would be available once the cameras calibrated (approximately 50 miles). After 100 miles my wife bumped into a wall in our garage. I opened a ticket and Tesla said the ADAS features are unavailable until a software update is sent. The sales person who I spoke to were not aware of this. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. Drivers are reliant on warnings from features like this and to have the features off without a warning could get someone run over.

When using cruise control on normal two way traffic roads during the day or at night: the car will brake aggressively because of proper oncoming traffic from the other lane. The system has been very poorly designed such that it only works on wide separated highways and there is no way to switch off this feature. I have already had two near accidents where the vehicle behind me didn’t expect my car to slow down so quickly for no reason. This is extremely dangerous.

We were Driving East on I-40 at mile marker 245 Friday Nov 29 2024 around 8:50am in the right lane. We were passed by a gray Ford F-150 on the left. We had the "Traffic Aware Cruise Control" enabled. Our Tesla braked hard when the F-150 was directly beside us. The Ford was not in our lane at any point, and never changed lanes. Luckily a car behind us was not following too closely or an accident could have happened.

Adaptive Cruise Control was unusable without consistent phantom breaking issues. Brand new car driving home a few hours I encountered phantom breaking on 2 lane and 4 lane highways during the night and during the day. It was so consistent that I basically could not use the cruise control at all as it was unsafe to have the car randomly break when at highway speeds with nothing in front of me and vehicle behind me. Had this happened in traffic there is a good chance i would have been rear ended. No notifications or emergency lights appeared on my dash.

I was driving along the highway on cruise control - plenty of space between me and the car in front of me, both of us traveling around 70 mph. My car suddenly started decelerating quickly, as if the cruise control had turned off. It slowed down to about 55-60 before I hit the accelerator to get back up to speed. Nothing obvious that would have caused the slowdown, no one was merging, the car in front of me was still travelling 70ish, and I didn't disengage the cruise control or hit the brake.

I was driving at a very slow speed of 1 mile per hr as I entered into the Kohls complex in Pleasanton ca. Then as I was pulling the car to a parking spot, all of a sudden I felt the car accelerated on me. My foot was always on the break and I pressed the break but the car still accelerated at a speed I had no control and it went over the parking bump and hit 2 cars that was parked opposite. I felt out of control and scary because the car was not doing as intended, to stop when pressed the break. I then pressed the park button. Then I also rever…

I got the delivery of the car VIN [XXX] on March 10 7 PM and got the car out and drive to home from Kennesaw tesla delivery center. On my way home the car stopped right after crossing the light signal at the intersection of Medlock bridge rd. and parson rd. And it does not move, I had to turn on the emergency lights to save myself from accident and the cop had come after some time. We were lucky to save ourselves without an accident as the car stopped all of the sudden and there was no car behind. I think this is a problem with the car and need…

I had the car for exactly one week. I was driving the vehicle in the street, and my vehicle jerked and stopped in the middle of the intersection and a warning sign came on “rear motor disabled”. Then stated it two or three more times, stating the vehicle is safe to drive under 50 miles, and no steel grades. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle at all at this time, and feel that Tesla needs to replace my vehicle as the vehicle is a week old, and the motor isn’t working. This is a huge safety concern as it could’ve caused a major injury accide…

I Purchased a new 2023 Telsa Model Y, picked it up today and on the drive home I experienced a phantom braking event which caused the vehicle to immediately stop and become inoperable. Despite my attempts to restart or reset the car it would not move. I sat in the middle lane of a six lane roadway for 90 minutes waiting for a tow truck to take the vehicle to the nearest Tesla Service Center. There was no warning and the vehicle drove flawlessly prior to this event, although I had only driven about 125 miles. I was in heavy traffic and I respond…

Car applied brakes suddenly multiple times when no vehicles or objects were remotely close (i.e. the car had phantom braking). This occurred while auto-pilot mode was on as well as while cruise control was on and with auto-pilot off. This happened several times on wide open highway lanes including when no other vehicles or other objects were anywhere in sight.

I was using the advanced cruise control (autopilot without steering assistance turned on) on a four lane highway with light traffic on a clear partly cloudy late afternoon. The speed limit of the highway was 75mph which was my set speed. For no reason at all my system slammed on the brakes, hard. Tesla refers to this as "phantom braking" according to online reports. This almost caused an accident as the car behind me had to very quickly swerve out of my lane. This is unacceptable behavior for an ADAS system to push the brakes so hard withou…

The Model Y with AutoPilot Plus and Autopark enabled lurched forward and crashed into a wall during parking. Just as important a concern is that the car never made a beep, chirp or any other indication or warning that it ever even realized it was driving into an obstacle. We are certain the collision would not have happened had Tesla not removed ultrasonic sensors from the car because the driver has driven many teslas and even owned a tesla before but all had USS sensors in them.
