ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, BUILD-UP OF CARPET/MAT DEADENER AND INSULATION UNDER THE REAR SEAT FRAME AND SEAT BELT ANCHOR TABS MAY PREVENT THE OPTIONAL FOLDING REAR SEAT CUSHION FROM LATCHING PROPERLY. THE LATCH MAY BE ONLY PARTIALLY ENGAGED AND FAIL TO SUSTAIN THE SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE LOADING REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY AND ANCHORAGES".

Remedy: DEALER WILL INSTALL SPACER WASHERS AT THE LATCH STRIKER ATTACHMENT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

Reported: 1977-10-25 (October 25, 1977) · Model years: 1978

ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, THE PARK ACTUATION SUPPORT PLATES ARE DEFECTIVE DUE TO THEIR SUSCEPTIBILITY TO CRACKING DUE TO IMPROPER HEAT TREATMENT DURING MANUFACTURE. AS A RESULT, FRAGMENTS FROM A BROKEN PLATE CAN BECOME LODGED IN THE TRANSMISSION PARKING PAWL MECHANISM. THIS COULD PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION PARKING PAWL FROM ENGAGING WHEN THE SELECTOR LEVER IS PLACED IN THE "PARK" POSITION, OR PREVENT THE PAWL FROM BEING DISENGAGED FROM THE PARK GEAR.

Remedy: THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE PARK ACTUATION CAM SUPPORT PLATES, FREE OF CHARGE, ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES.

On January 17, 2023, while driving down a commonly driven road (Muldoon) in Anchorage, Alaska at approximately 30 mph, I suddenly heard a large air escaping noise "Psh Psh Psh Psh" and it took me a moment to realize what was happening--the dash indicated the PSI of my rear driver's-side tire was deflating rapidly, to completely flat. Had the vehicle lost control in these snowy conditions, it could have ran into multiple other cars on the road--not ruling out the possibility of a roll-over type accident. When I pulled over into a parking lot, I…

Issue: Upon presenting the vehicle to Interstate Ford, the dealer and a Ford Representative issued a formal denial of warranty coverage. They cited Claim Type 14, Condition Code 39 ("Missing Part"). When you turn the right turn signal on and then make a right turn, when the steering wheel returns to straight, it causes the left turn signal to come on without touching the signal handle. So your left blinker comes on after right turns. Oncoming drivers and drivers behind you may expect a left turn which creates a safety hazard. Also driving with your turn signal on and not turning could result in a traffic stop by police. Ford replaced a complement in the steering column but the issue persisted. The Wiper Motor or electrical controlling the Wiper Motor. When the two high wiper blade settings are selected, the wipers run for around 30-40 seconds, then slow down and eventually stop. You can watch it happen. This has happened while having snow and rain on my windshield. In order to get them to start going again full speed you need to turn the switch. I feel this takes my focus off of the road during unfriendly road conditions and puts me and others at risk. The condition has been reproduced by my dealership and I have had my truck to the …

When set to high speed the wipers after a brief period will "slow down to protect the wiper motor" or something, creating a situation where in even mild rain the car forces the wipers to slow down making it unsafe. Clearly... Ford has severely under spec'd the wiper motor/gearbox hardware and "fixed" it with software making the vehicle unsafe where it will just randomly decide that high speed wiper's are not available anymore.

Four hours into a drive today, going down a fairly steep hill @ ~30mph into a 4 point intersection my Bronco lost all power, brakes and steering. I mean it had nothing. We barely made it thru the intersection because the cars coming directly at us slammed brakes. I had no control and went off the road into someone’s yard, barely missing their fence. It was the scariest thing we’ve ever encountered. My son in the back screaming STOP at the top of his lungs is burned in my brain. What makes all of this worse is that Ford just had it in the shop…

My 2021 Ford Bronco is subject to recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V455) for a low pressure fuel pump defect that can cause loss of fuel pressure or flow and engine stall. I was stranded on the side of the interstate in 100 degree heat with my newborn in the vehicle. This was a dangerous situation, not a minor inconvenience. I had the vehicle towed to an AAA Car Care Center in Charlotte, NC, where the fuel pump failure was diagnosed. AAA could n…

How safety was put at risk: A sudden engine stall while driving would result in an immediate loss of propulsion and power, creating a significant risk of collision, particularly at highway speeds or in traffic. This creates a dangerou…

I am part of a large number of individuals ~200+ documented experiencing scraping noises in our 7 speed manual transmissions. Most of us can't get service done due to part supply issues and labor shortages. The bigger concern is FORD is replacing same parts that are being damaged which doesn't address the root cause of the issue and its not solving problem because it comes back shortly after service. The noise is mostly only heard in temps below 50*f per FORD TSB 22-2371. People are complaining that regardless of new transmissions and TSB servi…

I have a 2021 ford bronco and the rear shock absorbers are both bad on my car it is dangerous to drive I have taken it to 2 different ford dealerships one in Morgantown wv and one in fairmont wv and was told there was nothing they could do about it. Then I contacted ford motor company and spoke to someone and was told there was nothing they could do and the vehicle was safe to drive although it states in the recall it increases risk of crash. I was told to file a complaint and on top of all that they won’t give me an inspection sticker. When y…

The vehicle currently has three active recalls with each not having a remedy as of to date although one I was notified of 7 months ago. I have already had to have a faulty fuel pump repair within the first month or so of onset of purchase where vehicle just lost power and died on side of the road and had to be towed. Then had to fight the dealership and write complaint to Ford after having defective camshaft which took multiple attempts and documentation for FORD and the dealership to repair properly. Vehicle would shift between 2wd/4wd/AWD ran…

Oil consumption or dilution

ODI 11676810

Rear passenger shock was leaking oil around braking system creating burnt oil smell while driving. At this point mileage for warranty was over by 2,000 miles and was not covered by Ford warranty. We had to pay over $900.00 for the replacement from Ford. Fast forward 2 months, on the freeway driving 70 mph, the rear driver’s side shock reservoir detached and almost hit the car behind us. Again, we are paying Ford again for the other shock. This recall really needs to be in forced a lot quicker because of the safety of other drivers.
